But I have one issue to raise - 'vertical rack' admittedly has a listing of variants in the game encyclopedia, but does not have separate textures depending on the planks used.
I've made a (probably rough) patch of this for Wildcraft Trees. It still needs a bit of work (recipes specifically) but I'm open to posting it once it's done and if it's ok

v4.0.0 Is good but it seems that the Shelf varients are not craftable on my server like even in the hand book they show up but they all look the same and have no crafting recipie any ideas on this issue

junawood The mod was last updated before all these new models and textures appeared, this is why most of blocks look the same to vanilla or aged variants look like vanilla oak variants
I checked again, and the vanilla vertical racks, shelves, barrels, buckets, beds, troughs, display cases, sod roof parts don't really look like the normal oak.
Your oak version of the sod roofing looks really great, so thanks for that (and your mods in general) because the vanilla version is just weird, but the vanilla wooden path look pretty close to the normal oak while yours looks way more reddish, your aged versions of the troughs and buckets look extremely close to the vanilla ones, just without the slightly dirty bottom, the vertical racks have almost the same colour, just more texture, and something seems to be wrong with your display cases as they all look the same and like the vanilla one.
And I found quite a few more things that don't have the "Mod: Vanilla Variants" info, so people could confuse them for vanilla and you can't find them by searching for Vanilla Variants.
1.19.5 and as an additional mod only Vanilla Variants 3.3.0 enabled.
junawood Oak variants are always vanilla except wooden paths and sod roofing have only aged variant in vanilla, troughs are patched. So nothing is wrong
Using 3.3.0 and there seem to be no oak versions of maybe everything except for the wooden paths and sod roofing, and the mod troughs don't have the normal "Mod: Vanilla Variants" info.
Stahl Vanilla bug
Ladder of one wood type can't be continued with a ladder of another type, gives an error about there being no place to attach the ladder.
So, PetAI, and presumably other mods relying on containers with water that don't go out of their way to add each potential variant won't allow, say, buckets from this mod to be used for fluid ingredients to craft, in this instance, pet cookies. In the interest of saving other modders work, I might suggest a solution similar to that 'other block game' where you essentially append a variable to the vanilla items and this variable controls which wood type/skin is shown.
I'm assuming this isn't already the case due to the nature of the compatibility issue.
Also, the dev team could obviate you of doing this work by simply making it so a recipe ignored the type of container so long as the requisite quantity and type of fluid was available in the grid (made a thread in suggestions)

I can definitely confirm the base Crude Door still doesn't have variants in vanilla , it's what lead me to this mod because I assumed no door's had different wood variants as a result !

Hi ! There is LIES in this mod ! The rudimentary doors doesn't have the wood variants like shown in the first pic ! xD
This isn't a big concern because I can just use oak, but while the recipe shows up suggesting it can be done, I can't make you varients buckets with rope when using this with the rope buckets mod. Any chance there is something I can change on my end to make them work or...nay? not a big issue, mind you. I just really like Ebony wood and want it for the buckets... =p
Weirdly enough today the mod now loads, but another mod didn't (Primitive Survival). Maybe there's some issue with the game right now?
There's a bug with the sod roofing alternatives though. They still have the pre 1.19 insulation issue.

The updated version doesn't work for me either. It does not show up in anything but the mod menu and items in existing games are a ? block.
Odd. I tried renaming VintageStoryData to get a fresh and that fixed it - I don't know what that would've changed, since the only thing I can think of would be me tinkering with something in assets and that's in VintageStory, not VintageStoryData, but it's fixed now, so I'll chalk it up to computer space magic and move on, I guess.
SnowboundCabin Not sure why it happens
This is completely not working for me, I can find no indication it's enabled (guidebook, creative inventory, attempt at crafting) beyond the mod list having the little square. I'm on 1.18.15 (latest stable version as of writing this) and tried with 3.2.2 and 3.2.1, the two most recent versions for 1.18.x. I checked my config file and it seems fine, I tried deleting it to go back to default, then toggling everything true, false, inverse of default... No dice. I checked my logs and it's full of a lot of "Patch file vanvar:patches/disabler/blocks_items/woodenrails.json, patch 0: Unmet IsValue condition (false!=True)" but otherwise I can't find anything out of the ordinary. I can post full logs if you need.

Texture related issue with the henbox:
There is a missing hay texture inside the base of the henbox that appears white. I delved into the files and looked into "henbox.json" located in the file path "assets > vanvar > blocktypes > wood" and found the issue within the following section of code:

where it should be;

Applied and tested in my own game, this above fix remedies the texture issue.
There is also an issue where the henbox's texture will revert to the base game oak texture when filled with eggs. I'm more familiar with Other Block Game's Json structure so I'm not sure what could potentially be incorrect and causing this.

Hi there,
Great mod. However, I believe the sod roof ridge blocks do not have rotation variants. When I place the oak sod roof ridge block I can only get it to point east to west.

I think Yanazake might also be referring to the system used with ruin clutter?

Didn't they make something like... I think it was with the hares/rabbits? There's only one instance in the data, but it has variations built in it, instead of hare 1, hare 2, hare 3 for every fur pattern variation?
I don't remember where it was mentioned or what it was about, but I'm sure there's something like this in the game. Maybe the shields? I seriously can't remember, but it caused SOME issues for some modders.
Is this version using the new variation method, or is it still a big list of individual items?

I have deactivated this mod and it loads without problem. I have version 1.18-pre.5
I will remove doors completely in the next mod update
Theisgood All these mods are currently incompatible with WIldcraft Trees, sadly I can't fix it on my side without adding new recipes (that are different from vanilla)
I actually can't craft anything from your 3 mods wood barrels,wood chests and this mod.
They all show up in the handbook but are not craftable.

This does not work with 1.17.9 :( or I have a conflicting mod or something but all the mods I am using are for 1.17.
The items show up in game but I can't craft them even with the recipes turned on in the config.
Ziver I won't fix it as long as recipe can be crafted and doesn't conflict with other recipes
I'm using 1.1.3 and noticed a recipe issue with the hen box. The wood boards go in the bottom row, instead of going in the middle row like the vanilla recipe.
So something like this:

In the next 2.0.0 update I will completely remove barrels from the mod since I have a separate Wood Barrels mod

I was trying to place two aged wood doors together and it wouldn't do it correctly, they were always back to back (beam in the middle) also I feel the color doesn't seem correct.
