Simply put: There is much too much ore available in the default world for my taste. This mod does something about it.

The purpose of this project is to make trade, exploration, scavenging ruins, and panning for resources a more significant part of the game experience. By making ore more rare, one must lean into other aspects of the game content to acquire tools and various other things. Especially early on. And, given the rarity of large iron and some other deposits, it is entirely possible that one may have to travel some distance from a base or community center before locating one, meaning a mine and transport operation migth be in order, depending on the nature of the server.

- The adjustments this mod makes sets a base spawn rate that is pretty rare. Deposit spawn rates can be further adjusted for your needs using the game world config screen when setting up your world- Simply adjust the "global deposit spawn rate" setting higher or lower as desired.

Wilderlands Deposit Scarcity is a mod developed for the Wilderlands community, and accomplishes the following:

• Reduces all ore and coal deposit worldgen chances to 1/4 of default values. Less for some deposit types.
• Tweaks the average and variable values of many deposits so that there is a wider range in potential deposit sizes.
• Adds some smaller iron deposit sizes that can spawn closer to the surface in some rock strata types.
• Greatly increases the size of some iron deposits. Some very large copper deposits can also be found.
• Iron deposit chances are greatly reduced- Much less than 1/4th the default rates.

Compatible with Geology Addons, with patches added to modify GeoAddon's added deposit spawn chances in similar manner.

NOTE: Wilderlands Scarcity is not compatible with early additions of Wilderlands Tweaks, pre Dev4. Always use lateest mod release versions.

I'd suggest using this mod alongside Wilderlands Panning Overhaul. The two were designed to be used together, but the features in each were worthy of their own modules.
