- Fixed: Collision boxes for some piles
- Fixed: Some items aren't showed in Ground Storable tab
- Fixed: Ground Storable tab is not translated
- Tweak: Added compatibility with Vanilla Variants (VanVar) 1.1.0+ version
- Tweak: Reworked config file. Alongside enable / disable certain piles, you can now configure the stacking capacity for most of them.
Be aware that disabling any pile will throw "painless" errors like "path not found", I cannot fix that without second patch condition. Also collision boxes for most of piles are now full (in height) when stacked, this is done in desperation to allow customization of any stacking capacity, without hurting performance.
- Tweak: Removed sticks layer pile (don't confuse with stick pile)
- Tweak: Default stacking capacity is changed:
- Angled gear (from 32 to 8)
- Beeswax (from 64 to 32)
- Bamboo stakes (from 128 to 32)
- Bone (from 128 to 64)
- Cloth (from 12 to 32)
- Chute section (from 8 to 64)
- Dry stone fence (from 32 to 64)
- Flax fibers (from 128 to 64)
- Flax twine (from 64 to 32)
- Honeycomb (from 64 to 8)
- Iron fence (from 16 to 64)
- Painting (from 16 to 64)
- Tool rack (from 32 to 64)
- Stick (from 128 to 64)
- Metal lamellae (from 16 to 8)
- Metal scales (from 16 to 8)
- Metal chain (from 16 to 8)
- Tweak: Some piles now use vanilla sounds instead (removed custom sounds)
- Tweak: The shape of metal chain pile has been slightly changed, now it doesn't look like DNA
Note: New stacking capacity will not affect the already created piles (except sticks layer pile, it will become invisible). For example, an existing pile of 32 tool racks will still have 32, but it can be disassembled and stacked again for updated capacity.

how do i place pile when i have place every item installed. it places the items like stones in a 2 by 2 like with that mod and no more
DarkThoughts Ghost items is ancient bug that exists in vanilla for more than 5 years already
Hm okay, I think the issue I have is with the loot spawns from the Primitive Survival furrows. Just had some sticks from that and it turned into my bowl of food, which would play the eating animation but not actually eat. Throwing it on the ground made it vanish. I guess trying to make a pile out of those ghost items ends up making an empty one.
noodlepfp It is caused by bug in vanilla code. I contacted one of VS team members recently about this exact issue, so it may get fixed very soon in next vanilla updates.
There is nothing I can do
Adding this mod to an existing save, I had a bone already placed on the floor. I went to pick it up after loading this mod, and my game crashed.
Here is the crash log : https://pastebin.com/WZXsUPvM
I'm also encountering this "invisible pile" issue. Specifically with fired refactory bricks. The brick pile is visible when not fired, but after firing, they go invisible. I am still able to pick them up, but its weird.
DarkThoughts Can't reproduce
I often get empty piles when trying to place down dry grass which I then have to "break" by hand.
Edit: Picked up more grass and the old one vanished. So it causes ghost items and I guess eats the real ones.
@DanaCraluminum
All good I love the mod I just thought I'd post it in case others ran into the same issue. Like you said in the DanaTweaks comments disabling tooltips stops the crash.
I'm running into the same error as AphoticAri did in the danatweaks comments where some piles placed the vanilla way turn invisible and can cause a crash when More Piles is installed and tooltips is on. However the piles I had an issue with are in new chucks with BetterRuins and More Piles installed, some of the ruins generate with these invisible vanilla piles that can crash the game. Exploring these certain ruins has become a bit of a minefield of potential crashes. Disabling More Piles reveals these vanilla piles (which in my case were sticks) and no crash occurs when looked at with tooltips. Disabling tooltips prevents the crashes but this does mean that there is seems to be minor incompatability between More Piles and Better Ruins at the moment.
Re: clay piles
I was confusing this with other,. now outdated pile mods that piled clay like coal. I think that would be neat to be incorporated into this mod, but I think an easier way to do it would just be to have a recipe to reverse clay bricks back into clay. So you could stockpile clay into raw bricks, and then recycle the bricks as needed.
Thanks mate !
Can confirm all good here now - thanks!
I'm also running into the bone problem. I sorted out the FixPlacement key, as well as setting CtrlKey to true - this ends up returning a "placefailure-" message when attempting to place via ctrl+shift right click. Knapping via shift right click still works though.
Venusgate
How it should stack?
Electro1
Disable AutoFill in config
Does this still not stack red clay?
I'm also having issues with Butchering's bone fletching and i attempted at adding the FixPlacement property and changing the CtrlKey from false to true, both changes get reverted to default for some odd reason.
Cael_Dranwylr Shift Ctrl Right-click
DanaCraluminum no what does it do ?
How do you make a dry grass pile? I keep starting construction of a firepit.
Edit: Never mind. I thought I had deleted the mod config before loading the game, I deleted the wrong one...the piles work now.
oneil Did you add FixPlacement property for bones?
yea im using butchering too and cant pile bones. its normal : butchering makes u able to knap bones for pickaxe, needle and arrow : unfortunatly it overides the more piles functionnality :(
DarkThoughts I don't know what is causing it
Regarding the bone knapping from Butchering... Is it possible to still have bone piles by ctrl+shift+right clicking, without affecting the knapping with shift+rightclick? At the moment it seems impossible to store bones on the ground.
WeatherAlchemy I compiled it for 1.20 and thought it would also work on 1.19
Is this supposed to report that it calls for version 1.19.0? It seems to be doing so, at least on my end.
Thanks for the update
Thanks for the update. Good to see this revived.
DecaByte Conctact me in discord
Don't know if you take requests or if it would fit this mod, but I would love for dry grass to be stackable in a hay-stack. There are mods that do this (like 'Art of Growing') but they come with a lot of other stuff I don't want.
How do I get items to stack? I may have another mod interfering with it or i may be just not doing it right, but i can't get a stack started.
Junrall It is stackable in vanilla
Is charcoal not stackable? Or is that skipped because its a "pileable" item? If I wanted to stack charcoal, could I add it to the config?
-not a request or bug report, just mostly curious.

Adnyeus I revived the mod
DanaCraluminum
Thank you for reviving this!
After two years away from the game, your mods were the very first I wanted to install—this one most of all.
I can’t thank you enough for bringing it back to life. It’s modders like you who keep Vintage Story fresh and exciting, and I honestly wish the developers did more to recognize that. Not to discredit what the developers do, but you’re the ones keeping the game alive and evolving, and you deserve more appreciation beyond just the modding community.
Anyway, I just wanted to say a huge thank you! Your work doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s truly appreciated.

No worries. Thanks for all the mods :)

Is there a chance this will be updated for 1.20?
This mod brought one of the best graphic impressions and fun of the VS.
Too bad it's life was as short as a meteor flash.
I miss this mod desperately
@DanaCralumium I know, thats why you prove my words.
Divocak I'm not obliged to update my mods, I already have 100 of them
The reason why i never play with mods again ever, mod works for short time and later developer abandon mods. it happend with like 4 other more mods...
later you can't stop play with mods and it is pain.
Nonamomo Yes
Would you be alright with someone else continuing this mod?
I got bored of developing this mod and More Piles code makes me depressed, I'm too lazy to update this so I abandon it
Jonathonsky Okay
Hello DanaCraluminum
I just wanted to see if I could use your stone pile shape for my own mod. I havent posted the mod yet until I finish getting your permission first and finish some details. The mod's name will be CandleStory. Let me know if I can. I'd be really speeding things up for me. Thank you.
Stroam Tyron will do it 😡
Messy version of a bone pile please.

The ability to stack sticks seems to be broken in v1.19.8. I tested this by creating a creative world with only this mod installed.
Wasn't sure if you knew. I realise the war is a bit distracting, screw Russia.
@DanaCraluminum Thank you for the response. The closest option I can find in the config is StackingCapacity but that doesn't change how the stacks are rendered. They still show 64 blocks.
Rudwark There is config for this
Could you change the rendering of cubic and log piles to show 8 blocks (without changing the default stack size)?
Zevon Someday
Can you add nugget and flint piles?
Novantis Shift + Ctrl + Right-click
I can't seem to place stone piles (just single stone on ground)? What combination of keys allows this?
Also flax on ground is visually bugged (invisible). Not using place every item if that's relevant.
I made a mod that prevents you from placing sticks and bones, which lets their piles work. For anyone who wants it, here's a link.
CuroAmarSalus
I can't seem to get this fork to work, still placing sticks like normal.
Is it compatible with 1.19.3 DanaCraluminum?
On one hand, i understand it is your mod and you have final say..... that being said, i feel like removing stackable sticks and bones from your mod because vanilla added in the ability to place 4 tiny sticks in a hole is absolute the wrong decision. stacks of sticks are easier to use then having 4 tiny sticks take up an entire block space. i say give the best of both worlds and have version with and one without the sticks.
DanaCraluminum I run six servers- universally the players in each all rely on this mod for stacking sticks and bones. While you may no longer support it (this is your mod, that is your choice, it is valid, and I won't criticize you for it), this mod is specifically used for stacking sticks, bones, twine, and flax. I don't host 1.19.x servers due to server crashes and bugs, but once the servers becomes stable we'll have to use my fork for it in the long run.
It seems this mod causes some interactivity issues in 1.19.x variants. If there's anything I can do to assist with debugging, let me know.
CuroAmarSalus This is not a fix, it doesn't worth updating in such way
1.19.x compatible fork of this mod that has Sticks + Bones added back in (Pit Kilns are broken): github.com/CuroSalus/MorePilesWithSticks/tree/master
DanaCraluminum
Yeah when not using the More Piles mod I am able to Bone Knap (just like stone knapping).
Hydromancerx Does it happen without More Piles installed?
So the Butchering mod uses LShift + RMouse for Bone Knapping while placing bones in this also uses it. Could you change it to LCtrl + LShift +RMouse by defaul please. Thanks in advance!
Really really sad you stopped with the Sticks. This saved a lot of space in my chests and looked very good. I would love if you bring back the stack of sticks. Please consider doing it. I was really loveing it.
IanDig I don't have any plans to keep piles for already ground storable items in vanilla. But I totally would expand block piles
I would still prefer this mod over the new vanilla ability to only place 4 per block
SecretFoxfire I will remove stick and bone piles in the next update, because main goal of the mod was to end up in vanilla, even if you can store only 4 things on ground
1.19-rc6 seems to have broken part of this mod. Previously we had big stacks of sticks and bones on my server, but when we logged in after updating from rc5 to rc6, suddenly they were just single placed sticks/bones, no more piles. We can no longer place them in piles. I poked at a vanilla copy of rc6 and it looks like we can now place sticks and bones on the ground as part of the vanilla game, and presumably this is overriding the piles. Not sure if there's any way you can fix that. I much prefer being able to stack them - placing them takes up so much space! (Thanks for the great mods by the way. I think we really should be able to place and pile everything in the game. It's perfectly realistic, after all!)
SpearAndFang
I believe Aksyl is referring to the Butchery mod, as it adds bone "knapping" (or "carving" as the author puts it) to craft rudimentary pickaxes and bone arrows.
Aksyl
For what it's worth, More Piles has a config file you can edit to disable the pile placement for bone, which should allow it to be placed for knapping/carving again. :) Hope it helps!
Cheers everyone!!
Aksyl
Primitive Survival does NOT allow knapping with bone. You might be talking about Ancient Tools or Survival Expanded, idk.
I've noticed an issue between this and primitive survival (I have yet to diagnose another mod having some effect in the combo)
Primitive Survival allows knapping with bone, and this should allow stacking, but I think they both are cancelling the other's actions out.
Now, I don't need to knap bone in most of my games, so really I'm only being prevented from stacking bone, but still. I don't see anyone else experiencing this issue, however which may indicate another culprit.
Maltiez Someday
Flint piles?
ladders place invisible, whether used with vanilla ladders, or with vanilla variants installed. Can no see ladder piles, so I lost 'em after leaving a pitfall. :/ Ah well.
Edit: Went into testing. Chute sections also invisible. Using the 1.18 verion.
SuperTeeJ The latest version requires 1.19
Was loving this mod before. Downloaded the new version and now getting an issue with the mod saying "Unable to resolve mod dependencies." but looking here I'm not seeing any other mod dependencies. Please let me know since I really love this mod to add extra decor to my markets and houses
Where have you been all that time! Thanks for updating this mod!
DumbLance What game version and mod version?
Is there a new dependant file? everytime i try to use the mod it crashes..
Sublime mod; should be integrated into vanilla
Hi Dana! This is a lovely mod. Cloth is flying with the default pile size of 32, even though it's configurable by anyone you might want to change it to 48 in the default config file of the mod. ;) See pictures imgur.com/a/lmWCg5J
Moon_Dew No idea
Is this compatible with FlyingSpaten's Stonepiles?
the standard Wooden Ladders made out of sticks?
NukoSan What ladders?
Not sure if it's just me but ladders do stack up but become invisible when stacked up... anyone getting this? maybe a missing model?
Redacted123 Someday
would it be possible to make grain pileable? for silos and such
This mod is the greatest. Personally, i think the game should have chests and baskets set to 1 slot by default.
What I would love to see is more piles for all the varieties of nuggets(copper, bismuth, etc.) and chunks(coal, lignite, borax, etc.) that cant be piled right now.
Wonderful mod BTW, I'm having visual glitches with piles of Twine not rendering.
EDIT: I have tried different Stacking capacities to these two and they are 100% fixed

Place Every Item can't stack like piles can, though. I want to stack my quartz like stones and sticks and such.
QuakingDoom use Place Every Item to place them
Could you please add Quartz chunks as a pileable? I have SOOOO much of it
JonR It is currently intended to make some blocks pileable
Unfortunately, I think I've found a new bug now. After placing something down into a pile, now I'm unable to add to that pile with just the Shift + Rightclick. If you use Ctrl + Shift + Rightclick though it works fine.
Yeah, thanks for the incredibly quick fix! That's wonderful!
Thanks for the quck fix. You rock!
QuakingDoom It is complicated, but mostly because "this block should be placed into ground storage" worked too perfect
will test, thank you. Out of curiositiy, what caused it?
JonR QuakingDoom Lavi fixed
Hey! I just wanted to report that it seems after downloading this and starting a new world, I am unable to knap granite stones - and I'm not sure if it's exclusive to just Granite. I can knap Flint fine, though, but Granite if I scoop up a bunch of rocks, I find I am unable to actually place one down again to knap it. Instead it just adds it to a pile instead, and builds that up. Thanks for your work on this though!
God i love this mod. Thank you so much
I was waiting for log piles to grand storage! Thanks!
ArtiKs Korzhyk Added log and rope piles
Yes
Could you consider adding the ability to place and stack ropes?
This either doesn't work well with 1.18 (Rc-6 currently), or there's a few visual glitches with the pack that I'd like to fix.
The stacking doesn't really work the same way that vanilla stacking of logs does. For example, if I stack cloth with this mod, it'll visually stack 12 consecutive cloths, but the count will continue to be 12. When you stack logs in-game, the stack visually increments when you add 2 logs, so in total you'll visually have 16 logs only when you have 32 logs in the stack. Changing the ModConfig also doesn't help. If I change stack count to 2 for example it simply adds 2 cloths and will reach the max visual stack at 12 still. Changing the Stack Size also has some glitchy behavior. I'm on the VS discord if you want me to try to update this for you: Axel#8407
Also, I can't seem to be able to stack blocks such as fences, ladders, gates, etc.
Hopefully this mod is easier to update than Place Every Item, because here are only a few of piles, while that mod has hundreds of items
cool. It is good.
Korzhyk I'll think about adding it as soon as I get back to this mod
Hei. What about piles for logs?
I can remove pile of paintings since it is not as useful as I thought
I have just tested it on 1.17.0-rc.7 and only some piles don't work (wooden fence pile as example), I will mark it as working in 1.17
Kirona
I won't add nugget piles.
To prevent blocks from placing, you need to stay on any block and then place block under yourself, to place sign pile for example
Craluminum Any chance at piles for nuggets?
EDIT: Also, what does "prevent block placing" mean? How do I do this so I can stack these items?
Does anyone have any ideas what other piles to add?
Would you be insulted if I stuck to v1.04? Some of the additions seem a bit extraneous.
Just coming by to say I love this mod and a minor question.
Will I need a updated version of IWPEI for the latest version of this mod or will it be fine :)
Lol edit I see you did not add any new items for the latest update.
So yes I was just coming to say great mod! Can't wait to see what other piles you make. :D
