OnVocalRest I can't imagine how to make it user friendly
Is it possible in the (far) future to add the ability to add width to chiseled pieces in addition to height? Right now we can make pieces that are vertically up to 9 blocks tall, but with only a 1x1 footprint. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know what the technical challenges would be, and maybe I'm not experienced enough yet with the mod, but basically I'm trying to make pieces that are different scales, or that can occupy multiple hitboxes.
This mod is incredible, by the way! I just found it a few days ago and I'm having a blast!

This is an amazing concept and clearly a lot of effort went into it. So far I have only crafted a stack of card and am trying to figure out how to properly interact with it, I think I figured out how to shuffle but I had to change the keybind, before it showed as "Ctrl+Shift+S+Ctrl+Shift+S" and pressing this "combo" just caused my character to walk backwards.. Also I can't reliably combine stacks of cards, sometimes they do stack but I have a small stack of two that just won't go in the big stack for some reason. I'm confused and sad, really wanted to enjoy a virtual card game with my bros.

It took a little while, but I finished my chess set. I would've liked to have done it in a more expensive material, but the board is limestone, slate and oak, and the pieces are cypress and dark oak. The tools are a bit fiddly, and the instructions are a tab obtuse, but the mod works really well!

I can't seem to back the backgammon board. I've crafted both stone and wood varients, I've tried using the extra tools function button and followed the inworld instructions but I just can't seem to be able to make it, any advice/help?

Hey, thanks for this mod! Trying to make non-pawn chess pieces. Not sure if I'm missing something, but there's only a picture of pawns in the schematic menu. I tried dragging pawns to the schematic menu and clicking in different spots. I also tried putting the pawn on the floor and right clicking with the schematic menu. I know I'm supposed to use the pawns and the schematic somehow, but can you give me more explicit instructions on how to make the non-pawn pieces?

Basically I want to take a die with one value (say a 4) then move the die and place it and still have a 4. If it helps I'm trying to recreate Knucklebones from Cult of the Lamb. Vigilance How to reproduce?
I am pretty reliably able to delete cards drawing from a turned pile on the floor with shift rightclick. If I just hold the input it'll continually put "0" cards in my bar, and if I attempt to place them either back in to the pile or on to the floor they stop existing. I was able to thin my deck to 6 cards. Are the card games more of a work-in-progress currently?
Edit: I just noticed it's probably due to the fact that I'm both trying to add a card and remove a card at the same time, since the interactions overlap (Shift right-click, with a card to add, without a card to remove)

DanaCraluminum I'm using the latest version of Config lib and your mod. Version of Conig Lib is: 1.5.2. Maybe it's because i'm on 1.20.6 but ConfigLib works fine with other mods so i dunno. Maybe ill try to edit config by file and not in game with config lib if there is an option for it. Well... i don't even know if i need to edit config for this mod so it's not a big deal ^^

Not sure how difficult of a request this would be, but I'd love it if a config file ever got added that allowed us to disable the orientation of placed chess pieces being dependent on the orientation of the player (not sure if that mechanic has an official name), at least on the board itself — as it is I kind of have to tapdance all over the board to get myself into the perfect spot to place the pieces straight, which is a little distracting xD
Otherwise huge fan of this mod, fantastic job! Especially on the models, they look fantastic and fit into the world nicely. (I have no idea how to play chess but I've always wanted to learn, and this seems like a perfect opportunity!)

DanaCraluminum sounds great no rush! Maybe even if you click F while holding a go bowl you could change the name to other games that way if you store it away in a chest you can see which bowl is which at a glance.
Is there anyway to dye/paint the base game pieces (checkers/go mostly)? I have an idea for a way to play a game but need simple colored pieces and i'm happy with the base mod piece shapes just need more/non-stone or wood colors.

Managed to finally make it. The dice tray does not have a description for me, it only shows that it's obtained by breaking the dice tray. The guides do not mention generic game board -> dice tray conversion either. Only after I placed the generic game board could I see the tooltip about creating dice trays.
I suggest adding a line about dice trays to the guide as it is not intuitive (for me) how a game board could be the base for a dice tray.
SiiMeR Read dice tray description in handbook. If you can't find it, then place generic game board on the ground and read its description

D10 is insanely hard to model, I tried many times to model it, but I gave up.
I think only someone with PhD in maths can actually do it, but i'm too stupid for this.
For specific dnd/warhammer/any wargame maps I can instead add chiselable boards instead billions of boards for every single game

Another classic, ancient branch of board games to include (lorewise, they'd be more likely to appear than any modern games): the cross-and-circle games. Ludo, Parcheesi, Pachisi, Chińczyk - there's a ton of names, but they all use the same mechanic and board layout, really.

Hmm, I think I would need a game board that the dice would "stick" to, so that I don't accidentally pick them up, as well as only pickup and re-roll certain dice. A dice cup so that I could roll multiple dice at once would be neat too.

DanaCraluminum I'd like to suggest 2 games! Mancala and The Royal Game of Ur (Similar to Batgammon if you're familiar), or I suppose Batgammon would be another fun suggestion. 😅
Mancala might be tricky with "stacking", I dont' quite know how that would work code wise, especially when you get sometimes 10+ units in one "cup" but maybe the cups can be big enough to have many many slots in it?
And, I'm not incredibly familiar with The Royal Game of Ur, but code/mechanic wise it might need the ability to have layered (or side-by-side) units to allow passing. Again, not totally sure though.

What an amazing mod. I love minigames in larger games like this and it gives an even better reason to advance ages. I was really hoping this would have the royal game of ur, but even with the games it has already this is sweet. This will make winter much less miserable.

I really hope that someone is able to revive this mod. I never even got to try it, because I didn't start playing this game until 1.19, lmao. But this concept seems like a really cool way to pass time in the game, when you've run out of things to do.

I changed my mind, reviving update will be for 1.20
I'm really sad to say this, but in both 1.18 and 1.19 vanilla introduced enormous amount of changes that break most important parts of the mod, and I don't have enough knowledge to fix them.
I decided to gave up on this mod completely and abandon this idea indefinitely.
You are free to use code and assets from the mod only if your mod is completely focused on tabletop games.
The latest version that can be useful is on 2.0.0 branch

Hello! We have this mod installed on our server. And it seems to have a critical error refering to this mod. Anytime I click on a wildcraft tree plank my client crashes and mentions a critical error with this mod in the report. I have also messaged Catastroid explaining the same to them.

Something like Liar's Dice or Farkle (Kingdom Come Deliverance) would be fun to have. Farkle's rules would be annoying, but even if they weren't included in the game and instead the players kept score on their own, it could work.

There is no logic that tracks for something, just you and the board.
First off, love the mod :)
I want to give feedback on Go though, the "normal" board sizes are 9x9, 13x13, and 19x19, I recommend at least having 13x13 if 19x19 is too large
Also, just to be sure, are you keeping track of "prisoners" somehow? When you capture your opponent's stones in the game you get an extra point for each, at the end (in japanese rules)
as for suggestions, what type of poker? texas holdem? :) with chips too... oh man this could be so great XD
