Latest file for v1.18.0:

This mod is now irrelevant.
With the release of v1.1.2 of the Butchering mod, compatibility for Medieval Expansion is now included by default.
Aurochs from the Medieval Expansion mod can now be butcher on hooks and tables from the Butchering mod.
Only applies to grown aurochs. Baby aurochs are not currently compatible, although I could make it so, if it's truly necessary.
Aurochs drop rates when harvesting without a butchering hook have been reduced to match that of other animals changed by the Butchering mod.
Should work on various 1.18.x versions. I'm using it on 1.18.15, with version 3.11.1 of Medieval Expansion, and version 1.0.9 of Butchering mod.
Please let me know if you run into any issues when using this. I'm not an expert, but I'll do what I can.
Todo:
- Fix the legs on female aurochs model sticking straight out when hanging from butcher hook.

Perfect, simply perfect. I was about to make this with Fauna Of The Stone Age creatures but, after seen developers adding some of them to main game in 1.19 I'll wait to see if Butchering author makes it XD
I noticed that too. I think it's because I copied the piece of code from MedExp that references the bonehumanoid texture to ensure that the models look as close to identical as possible.
But I'm pretty sure it's just semantic, e.g., it doesn't actually effect anything gameplay wise. At least I haven't noticed. But if it turns out that I'm wrong, let me know!

Hmm interesting, because once I took this mod out it went away, but I understand what your saying.
TheNiteFox That issue is directly from Medieval Expansion itself too. The model references bonehumanoid for their horns.
I do get the following error like 100 times at once:
[Error] Missing mapping for texture code bonehumanoid during shape tesselation of item butchering:deadcow-dead using shape butchering:butchercreatures/aurochs/aurochs-female-dead
It doesnt crash the game or anything, but thought I would let you know.

No problem. Props to the authors of both mods. They're the real heroes!
This is awesome and is exactly what I was hoping to see come out for butchering. Thank you for your work!
I can't make it as a compatibility patch in the main mod because I'm not the author of the main mod (Butchering), so I don't have any way to do that. I could reupload the whole mod and have this as a compatibility patch inside of it, but... pretty sure that's against the rules lol.
I expect that this patch will be made redundant in the future, because the author (CaptainOatz) has made it clear that he would like to add compatibility for all animal mods by using a generic carcass or something like that. I really only made this because:
And then I only uploaded it to the public mod DB so that my friends can download it when they join our server. And also, I figured maybe others might get some use out of it too 🤷♂️

Why not make it just as compatibility patch in main mod? If you had to use some of Medieval expansion classes, then as long as they are not used when Medieval expansion is not loaded (it can be checked), they should not cause any problems.
