Mod is no longer maintained, further updates will only be available in Dana Tweaks.

After opening doors, they automatically close after a while.

Only doors and gates that are implemented through BlockBehaviorDoor and BEBehaviorDoor are supported, I tried really hard to add support for fence gates, trapdoors and everyting else, but no luck.

Hold Ctrl key to prevent auto closing.

Trapdoors don't auto close.

Fence gates don't auto close.

Iron doors don't auto close.

Configuration file is located in VintagestoryData/ModConfig, it is appeared after loading any world.

I didn't see any options for disabling them, unless you're asking if we drilled through all the doors to find the particular one. I'd already destroyed them all via creative before I realized that it might be this mod so I don't know which doors they mgiht be, but I'll certainly have a look in our new world when we go to do the archives.

My friend and I went through the Resonance Archives for the first time this weekend and found that the plot locked doors closed after a few seconds. We didn't troubleshoot beyond figuring out that the doors closed shortly after opening, but Auto Close seems a good candidate for the problem.

Honestly a dealbreaker, a door I need closed in a state keeps opening when it tries to "close" every time I actually close it

In the image, the door is in a "closed" state and I can't get it to be closed in the correct direction, without it opening the wrong way (it opens in a way that it blocks my way, instead of opening towards the cobblestone blocks)

The mod is useful, though as mentioned previously some key prevents it from closing, would be nice if that was configurable.
Also a very annoying thing is that the doors only close in one direction, the hinge is always on one side and it's possible to place it in a way you want to keep it, but it closes. (see pic https://imgur.com/a/3zhSms5)
A fix could be that however you place the door, that will be the closed state, instead of whichever state the game assumes the door to be in that "angle" for lack of a better term.

DanaCraluminum I'm not sure I follow what youre saying about them alternating. I was talking about a toggle.
It makes more sense to want to run through a door and have it autoclose, at least imh. I often have shift/run held when i click doors or running from something. so it never autocloses

Goatslaw I won't make it configurable or change it to Shift, then to Ctrl, then to Shift, then again to Ctrl.

Also I totally prefer using Ctrl for this

holding shift (or run as I've set it) while opening a door prevents auto close instead of ctrl, or crouch.
Is this because I've switched controls for crouch and sprint? And does that mean running is supposed to prevent auto close? I'd rather it be set for crouch.

people keep leavin the doors open on my server, how do i make it so there is no overide to turn it off and they SHUT

Heya, boss.

In the last iteration before v1.19 or perhaps another version of this mod, I am pretty sure there was a way to ctrl-click the doors to keep them open.  Is that possible to add back in?

Weirdly, I've noticed that trapdoors don't autoclose now (they autoclosed before this mod, strangely enough) and iron doors don't auto-close.

sharptile Actually having alt would be better. Now it's bound to ctrl so you can't sprint through a door as you are opening it because it thinks you want to keep it open. Shift would be much better even if it interfers with carry on/pick up & carry mods.

is there or will there be an option to rebind the controls?

i personally find it annoying using shift as a ''dont autoclose'' and would like to rebind it to a different key

thnks for the answer back. and YES! exactly what I needed. Thnk you so much. I used to use the floor plates from Medieval expansion.

but that mod has been giveing me truble of late. Then I tried the springs from Blacksmiths.

But they only work on doors and I need gates far more, as I'm always leaving the garden gate open for the rabbits.

Also that mod adds so much stuff I dont need and never use this is much better.

Your mods are great man. It's always some super useful QOL, something to 'complete' the game with more options, or some neat additions like more liquid containers or more ruin variants. You are awesome, thank you for the incredible mods.

If anyone wants springs like in Blacksmiths, but compatible with every mod (without adding any new blocks), write about that in comments here and I will add them someday
