That mod Adds new hostile creatures , close to vanilla style (at least i tried!).
You will find new infected by rot variations of those creatures :
- Wolf
- Bear
- Squirrel
- Moose
- Bass
- Hyena
(they drops tropfies with chance)
Have compatibility content with :
-(Not Only) Spear Expantion
(adds new (post-steel) grade of weapons and armor that can be crafted!)

We've been running this Mod on our Server, sometimes we tend to get a whole Herd of Bears randomly popping out wich is... how do i put this, not really Ideal or balanced. Would be nice if you could modify it so theres a Limit of how many Decaying creatures can be alive at once, or include a Config file to edit Max Spawns or anything at all in generel for your Mod. Just wanted to drop my thoughts on it. Lookin forward to seeing how you pan it out.

I noticed howl1.ogg was a stereo file - when I changed it to mono, it seemed to work a lot more correctly with regards to being directional/distance modified. I've noticed the game tends to play stereo sounds at the player and mono sounds at the source.
Might do that, because reduced sound distznce and smaller chance of playing howl animation might didn`t worked like i hoped it will.. thx for suggestion and attention to my mod! cateatsglue

maybe add directional noises for the creatures, and volume based on distance? it kind of gets old to hear decaying wolf howls play right in your ears everywhere at max volume when we haven't even seen one yet, cool models and creature ideas though
The decaying wolf sounds play everywhere, even when the wolves are deep underground
i love this mod! it looks like something i'm really going to enjoy. is there any way you can add some mod config options to tweak drop and spawn rates? just going through the entity files it seems like their drops are high. i'd personally like a % based reduction to them, probably around 90%. as for spawn rates, i haven't personally seen any issues with them, but since it's in the comments, i feel like it could be killing two birds with one stone

The rot bears and wolves seem to like to spawn similar the drifters at night, but don't despawn similar to normal animals. At my base I regularly see 5 bears undead wandering around killing any rabbit or chicken that happenes to wander by while only seeing real bears respawn once a season or so. The rot bears and wolves are also incredibly chatty...

Yes, These mod is compatible with combat overhaul (sometimes throws couple errors in logs (not crashing), but working fine, i`m still polishing all the systems and updating mod)

Mod Configure Everything can change a lot, also you can create server mod with patches for everything what you wish to change

Is there away to change spawn rates and drop rates for the creatures? If we can do this, and also fix the wolf audio then I would definitely like it for my server.

After some experiments - i`ve made that rotting animals spawns in darkness, on surface (but not very high, so mountains might be perfect safe zones), and animals are also split on how deep they can spawn, with deepest spawning is squirrel, it can be met in the deepest caves DanekJovax

[Warning] Audio File rottingenimals:sounds/creature/wolf/howl1.ogg is a stereo sound but loaded as a locational sound, will not attenuate correctly.
Plus you should edit the sound files better, especially the wolf howling sounds do cut off and can be spammy.

Hoping one day for compatibility for the Fauna of the Stone Age series! The Caninae version for example is meant to remove normal wolves for their own - but this mod puts normal wolves back into the game and currently did not see new Caninae versions respawn. I'm assuming it does that for other creatures the mod changes. I love the idea of extra difficulty in worlds and currently await to see where this mod goes!
Yes, but after some time it will decay into sceletone, which after breaking drops some materials, also after death it drops on ground most vaulable loot

On page of "Configure Everything" you can find location of files, you can find needed file in "server" file, after that tou can paste (and change to your liking) config that we use on our server, never used it by myself, but i hope it will be figured out.. (you can find me by my nickname on discord sever of vintage stoy, i can send you file with needed part of the code) Snowfall94 , also in future i will try to reduce further their spawn and make expirience more pleasant without additional configuring
Everytime I see a Bear, they spawn in groups of 3 minimum, it's like they have squad spawning enabled. They look cool and all that but I have yet to see any of the other creatures from this mod, that I know of.
So how would I go about configuring the config file or using that configure everything mod you've mentioned, to tone their spawns down?
I'd love them to still be in the game but I really would like to have them be a rare challenge, instead of every couple of days having to fight a squad of them.
Asking because I have zero know how of how to make the edits myself btw.

Hello - having a spawn rate issue on my server. We've had over 30 of the bears spawn in our little settlement inside of 10 minutes, and the problem is now spreading to wolves. Is there a config file, or means to edit the mod, to stop this?
I have changed their spawn rate to be more rare (as it was intended at first) , but if you want - you can tweak it how you wish by some other configurators or by simply changing it in files if you familiar with these

Is it normal that bears spawn so often? I tried it and there was 4 bears within 5 chunk radius at the same time.
Or maybe I have to change the settings?

In next update (whitch are close to be released) i will adjust mobs spawn and stats a little bit , hope that it will help! Can you add some configuration options or adjust the damage a bit? I keep getting stealth 1 hit by moose at the start of the game and it's extremely annoying.

This mod is awesome, i'm on the early game and in the night on the darkness saw the moose with that red eyes, almost had an heart attack lol.

love this mod, would be nice for some sharks or fish to make the ocean dangerous, would tank fps to fill the ocean with them but maybe they spawn within 30 blocks the second u touch the water and then chase you immediately =D

My suggestion would be to reduce the amount and chance to get temporal gears and rusty gears from these creatures.

It would be very nice if u force ur mobs spawn during the temporal storm alongside with drifters.
I`ve finally checked rot creatures mod , i think it will not conflict with decaying creatures , at least i didn`t found any similar system names , so everything must be ok Servius
Will be happy to hear feedback! I`m not sure about how spawn of my mobs will feel in raw gaming expirience , those mobs created as mutch more rare and powerful enemies.. so will be happy to fix something if it needs to..

The lloot from these bears is like bear+drifter, with a creature that is also less fast than a regular bear, just killed two bears with three spears, only walking around and reusing the spears, that with normal bears would be impossible.
Also, almost all modded bears i found were on daylight, which was pretty weird... idk, will try with your mod and decide later, may even keep both

i`ve checked files of that another mod , it must work without a problems together , idk about differences , but i see that that mod adds only bear , aslo what i found in the code , Infected animal uses slightly changed code of vanilla bear , so it will spawn like a bear , only with differense that spawn rate way lower than vanilla one Servius
I have yet to use the mod but I can already tell it's going to be fun, I like mods that expand on the rust creature enemy types.
with that said, do you have plans to add more. Such as hyenas, gaszals, and maybe different bear types as well? Just to give an example.

I have yet to try this mod, but I will say I am impressed and intrigued by what I see in that preview! It's definitely in my list to use for my next world!
