It has it's own wooden mallet but I don't think the recipe is the same, so it shouldn't cause issues.

Did you ever find out what mod was causing the issue?  I've tried quite a few and haven't found any conflicts.

I have a lot of mods but at least one is conflicting giving me a recipe for it of just a rope and knife above it, will figure out which mod it is later and report back!

Figuring out a way to make it work in recipes would be really good because it would give the durability a meaning beyond just accidentally damaging the hammer when breaking a block with it. (I really can't think of any other way to damage a hammer other than using it on an anvil and using it in crafting)

It shouldn't be able to be used for smithing, because I didn't put it in with the hammer group.

Because it isn't in the hammer group I think it can only be used for the chiseling at the moment.

Can this be used for crafting recipes? like say... the recipes for shallow that roofs from More Roofing? it makes no sense to me that the thatch roofs need a metal hammer beucase when you have metal, your probably done using that roofing anyway!

I assume this also cant be used for smithing right?

So I had to move the files that were in the mallet zip to the top of the zip becuase the mod manager was saying that there wasnt a modinfo.json

Glad to hear!  It doesn't take super long to reach copper age once you know what you are doing, but I found that my building options were sadly kind of limited without a chisel/hammer option for stone age.

I was just looking at that mod!! my friend mainly builds so this will help him transition into vs, he doesnt like the early game grind as much (I did also tell him about exploration mode)
