This mod makes hare farming more viable by allowing them to be fed from the small trough which can now hold dry grass, certain vegetables, and even certain wildcraft herbs if it's installed. Like other animals, hares lose their fear of the player with each generation, becoming fearless at generation 10.
v1.19.0 Warning: There's currently a bug that allows animals to eat from any trough, meaning large animals can eat for half the cost than they would with a large trough. (You can test this in vanilla with grain and deer). If this bothers you, I suggest waiting until the bug is fixed, as this mod will extend this issue to animals that can eat grass and vegetables (basically all large animals).
The following can now be added to the small trough to feed hares.
Vanilla (Vegetables & Grass):
Dry grass(4x)
Turnip
Parsnip
Carrot
Bell Pepper
Pumpkin Slices
Wildcraft (Herbs):
Miner's Lettuce
Sage
Thyme
Rosemary
Mint
Cilantro
Basil

I'm trying this on a multiplayer server and everything seems to be working except for the wildcraft herbs, they are not able to be added to small troughs (or large but thats not really an issue). Has there been an update that possibly broke the compatibility with this mod? We'd love to be able to use the herbs
I was able to modify the small_trough.json and update the "dependOn" and the item codes to match the reworked Wildcraft: Herbs and Spices. I'm going to post it on the DB just so my server can use it, but I will take it down as soon as you ask and I can provide you with the .json if you'd like.
This is an absolutely hare-raising experience.
LazyViking Seems like the wiki is mentioning large troughs, which only works because of the 1.19 bug I mentioned that lets small animals eat from large troughs and vice versa.
My mod makes it so you can add vegetables, grass, and sometimes modded herbs to the small trough.
did your mod enter main game for your mod are now in the wiki for how to breed hares?
Iver try redownloading.

Awesome, thank you. I was genuinely confused because I wasn't the first to download it and no one else had mentioned it being an issue. Aristine

probably the throughs being patched to only work on the proper animals.
What wasn't working before? It seemed to be working for me.
I didn't know rabbit raising was a thing, but this sounds helpful when I now start a rabbit farm
awesomedeity Thanks for reporting that, somehow the release got corrupted. Should be fixed now!
Am I the only one downloading an empty folder for 1.19?

Shion and anyone else wondering
mod still works as intended as of 1.18.2-rc.4
1.18 support?
Cute.
This is pretty nice, easy early redmeat to go along with chickens. I wonder if the feeder can be automated to any extent.
i like it. just what i needed for a small pelt farm
