Adds a new class file and JSON patch for Flint and Steel to give it special behavior and a new sound effect.
It works the same as before, except now it ignites instantly and produces some lightbringing sparks.
This mod does nothing on its own. You need to download the Flint and Steel mod in order for this addon to function.
The class file added by this mod can be used by other mods, just set your firestarter's entityclass to ItemFlintAndSteel and add a dependancy.

I downloaded a couple mods, and this one was one of them. I was about to put this out of my mod folder to see if it was (with the base F&S) the cause of an issue i had. Then i noticed the mod's name ended up with uncompiled. Wondering what that meant, i came here, in search for an answer. Maybe this was the cause of the issue ? "Bad" news : it is not me being dumb and forgetting a crucial manipulation, the "uncompiled" version was a bugfix. "Good" news : i finally found the bug.
I have the exact same issue as RuneScholar, not being able to start a new world. The game tell me that "something went awry" just after "A gentle simmer, then rolling boil". The game doesn't crash, just the world creation fail. Btw, i'm on singleplayer, so it's not "multiplayer-exclusive glitches". Also, if i then try to go back on singleplayer, the game show me the game in red, telling me that it cannot be used or overwritten or any kind of edition, with the supposition that it might be used somewhere else.
Also, it actually might be the original mod (didn't checked that out yet) , but since it is a 1.16 mod, used it on 2-3 game version later might actually cause issues in my opinion.

Can't be, F&S doesn't add any code. My guess: are you running this on a server?
Despite this game running server code in singleplayer, it seems to have multiplayer-exclusive glitches.
I am still getting a crash on startup on 1.18.5 with just this mod and the base “Flint and Steel” mod. I honestly think the problem is with the base mod.

Another case of "making it uncompiled fixed the mysterious errors"
API changes? Okay shouldn't be too hard to fix. While i'm at it i'm going to uncompile it which should result in better performace while also making it readable/editable.
I added just this mod and the Flint and Steel mod and they crashed on usage; I did have a bunch of other mods in use so it could be a compat thing, so I'm gonna check right now. Edit: Yup, crashes even with only FlintandSteel and FlintAndSteelAddon in the mods folder when you try to ignite something with the flint and steel. Crash log here.

Should still work, I build these mods to be timeless.
Report any issues that pop up due to updates.
Could you please update this mod for 1.18.8+?
