A mod that was a joke but I figured I'd share it. Adds the ability to craft a flint & steel to the game. Is it practical? no but it sure is immersive. 😬

@OmegaHaxors Feel free to take over the entire mod, combine them and republish it for yourself if you'd like, I don't mind at all.

There is a error when loading a world when this mod is enabled. The error says

[Error] Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I got that it is a joke mod and that you probably aren't modding seriously, but this mod actually look super immersive (i'm going to try it) . Could you do more variants for the item ? If you do, here are a couple ideas for more material options : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_striker

Very curious little tidbit, not gamebreaking but figured I should say something if anyone else experiences it; using this mod in conjunction with OmegaHaxors nifty little add-on, and XSkills, somehow removes the 'Quality' addition to all tools forged with Blacksmithing. Removing Flint/Steel + Add-on brings back the said 'Quality' aspect to the tools, so builder beware! All the same, thank you to both Minni6in and Omegahaxors for the mod/add-on!

((possible fix: reloading the game (fresh reboot) seems to restore 'Quality'! Apologies for any weirdness!))

Cool idea though it's just a reskinned firestarter with lots of durability. It would be pretty cool if it could instantly start fires.
EDIT: I have made an addon mod that does just that. Check it out!

my son thinks it would be funny to make a chert & steel and quartz & steel as well, I may or may not haven't decided yet

💬 Minni6inAuthor, Dec 26th 2021 at 3:00 AM

the entire item is consumed

💬 OpPointBaker, Dec 26th 2021 at 1:42 AM

Ooh. Having this added to the sell list of a survival goods trader would be perfect. Maybe 1 or 2 gears for each striker?
Or add it to a cracked vessel drop list, like, foraging maybe?

When the durability is gone, do you get the striker back or is it consumed aswell?
