I like to feed my animals hay.  I am thinking of building a hay silo for my house that I can fill from the top and due to gravity I can pull out bales from the bottom.

I've been discussing it with a friend of mine Conninator2000.  The issues are in vanilla, hay doesn't stack well and you burn through scythe's collecting it using basic metals.  My friend ended up making a larger capacity hay bale mod.  Looks nice, works well, would suggest it as a companion to this mod if your interested:  https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/7025

However, I still found I had a problem with burning through scythes, so I decided to make a mod that adds a scythe mold so it's a bit easier to build a bunch at once to promote animal husbandry!

This is my first mod (ever for any game actually).  I tested it in 1.18.6 creative and seems to have all correct functionality but let me know if you run into anything odd or have suggestions.  I'd expect it likely will work fine in 1.16.x and beyond but I haven't tested prior versions.

Enjoy!

Edit:
I also created another mold mod, which is now finally published.  Check it out if you like knives:  https://mods.vintagestory.at/knifemold

I am happy it's working out.  Also, speaking with my friend, I believe the mod is required on server side only.

I've been playing with it on for a while now and it's working perfectly! SUPER convenient without feeling the slightest bit cheaty. Thank you for this mod, it's definitely a must have!

Thanks! Was getting sick of smithing these buggers. Doing a slow paced playthrough and been haying the fields (in the early copper age, post pottery) and had to move to smithing earlier than I wanted so not to spend all my playtime cutting straws with knife. Can't wait to try it out and reap the benefits ;)
