can confirm what purple8cloud said. This mod doesnt speed up the degree rise rate

Also may I suggest making this work like, or compatible with BetterFirepit? The temperature resets even though im using better Firepit

💬 purple8cloud, Mar 23rd at 3:04 PM

WARNING
this mod doesnt speed up degree rise rate
it nearly quadruple fuel consumption in exchange for speed

💬 Hatrune_Cubic, Mar 6th at 12:42 PM

Would be there a way to add a config into the mod for melting rate/burning rate?

Or would be awesome to get that furnace make basic fuel burn in higher temperatures like 1.2x more (or at least config that allows us to do so)

💬 Richy, Mar 4th at 6:27 AM

Do you think you can make this stove or something similar like this but for the pot, to serve to cook food a little faster, or if it is only visual it does not matter, personally I do not like for example to have the stove around firewood :( artEA

Same problem. Not a problem with normal crucibles, just the crucible from this mod does it pretty reliably on large pours. I've ruined 2 crucibles now by having this happen. Very frustrating.

Would also be nice to be able to light the stove from the upper half where the crucible sits. We added this mod later into our mp world, and so I already had a predesigned smelting pit with a chiseled overhang. Would be nice to be able to recess it into the floor and still make it lightable.

💬 Cryorus, Feb 27th at 11:07 AM

I had it now a few times happening that when smelting 3000+ units at a time it would smelt into exactly 1 less unit making the last pour unusable, unless I smelt 1 bit to it.
Playing on 1.20.4 with v1.0.4 , happened with mods on server and singeplayer by its own.

💬 Annastasija, Feb 23rd at 7:52 PM

Any chance you could also make the normal crucible work in the f=basic forge? because having to sit down that thing in a fireplace every single time, when I could just put it on a bed of hot charcoal which is the forge, makes no sense

Just FYI, this mod DOES allow you to smelt iron in its crucible (using coke as the fuel) HOWEVER, the iron turns into "Molten Iron Bloom" and cannot be poued or removed from the crucible. So, if you are to allow iron to be smelted in the future, you'll need to make sure to account for that and either make a use for liquid bloom OR maybe have us add borax as a flux to the crucible in order to get liquid iron. Please and thank you!

Бедствие

In real life, it is impossible to heat iron in a crucible, but if you look towards real life,
then in the game you need to create a furnace like a blast furnace, coke coal, and supply a large amount of air for this whole thing...
Short ansver: I will think about the type of new furnace and the type of fuel for smelting iron into a crucible.

hello. any chance we can get the crucible to melt iron? realstically a crucible is required IRL to get iron hot enough to melt. wanting to know if you could some how translate that into this mod as well. especially since the crucible does take a decent amount to make. it would be a good investment.

💬 ElrondHubbardCln, Feb 20th at 1:38 PM

Will this be  updated for 1.20?  It throws an error in 1.20.3

version 1.19.8 i poured 7200 units of copper into three 2400 unit foundries from the foundry mod, i filled completely two foundries but the third was left with 2399/2400 units. the crucible was empty.

💬 Vedrit, Aug 30th 2024 at 8:44 PM

Is this able to melt steel nuggets?

💬 dashr, Aug 16th 2024 at 11:05 AM

artEA I did. Let me know if there are any issues.

💬 artEA , Aug 13th 2024 at 6:52 PM

dashr Yes, it would be nice if you sent me the file. Could you mention me on the server?

💬 dashr, Jul 29th 2024 at 10:08 AM

artEA I tested this mod thoroughly and can say it works without any hiccups on 1.19.8 with over 80 mods.

I have written a well thought out handbook entry for the mod, including all the links for the Crucible and the Furnace. I've changed the words a bit, but it shouldn't be a big deal for you to edit, if you want to. Let me know if you want the file, I think it will save you a lot of time.

💬 Noobenwell, Jul 21st 2024 at 5:25 PM

artEA not sure if this is happening to anyone else but I can't get this thing to do anything with any ores in the Crucible asin when putting ores in it just remains cold no matter the amount...

💬 Noobenwell, Jul 4th 2024 at 4:50 PM

I know this is for smelting BUUUUTTT it would be awesome to have this for cooking as well. maybe a variant or just a pot that works on it?

💬 Jomeaga, Jun 30th 2024 at 1:45 AM

Would you consider allowing plates other than black bronze for the crucible recipe?

💬 HighlandBrit, Jun 18th 2024 at 6:18 AM

It works fine for me and I have a lot of mods. I think its possible they have conflicts, probably something that touches Ores/Smelting.

💬 Powidlo, May 31st 2024 at 12:03 PM

artEA I used a crucible from the mod for melting. Both the furnace and the crucible were made without problems, all the fuel (wood, peat, coal, coke) burns in the furnace, but the crucible remains cold. The heating process does not start. I tested on different ores and amounts.

💬 artEA , May 31st 2024 at 11:20 AM

@Powidlo Which crucible do you use from this mod or vanilla? with molten metal or ore?

💬 Powidlo, May 31st 2024 at 9:21 AM

I have the same problem as below. The fuel burns but the crucible remains cool. I would also recommend reducing the fuel burn rate.

💬 Hanley, May 28th 2024 at 7:55 AM

artEA Done. Please let me know if you need any further information or if the issue is lacking in some way.

💬 artEA , May 27th 2024 at 6:28 PM

@Hanley write issue for this reason https://github.com/Arkona-VS/MeltingPP-Issues

💬 SpacemanSpliff, May 27th 2024 at 12:11 AM

Im having the same issue as Hanley down below, the crucible is not receiving heat.

💬 DUCATISLO, May 26th 2024 at 3:19 PM

wow nice

💬 Hanley, May 25th 2024 at 11:21 PM

Hello, for some reason the crucible won't heat up I'm curious if maybe there's something I'm doing wrong? I've tried lignite, black coal, as well as charcoal but the cruicible remains cold and doesn't heat up at all. I looked in the client logs and I don't see any errors.

💬 MarkusAureus, May 19th 2024 at 1:37 AM

Dreamcrusher

This mod adds a crucible with 12 slots and a new Melting Furnace to place it on, for bulk melting of ore.
Foundry, the mod you linked, adds 12 ingot and 24 ingot molds for bulk casting of molten metal.

💬 Dreamcrusher, May 18th 2024 at 4:51 PM

Can you explain? Like write down what they do, provide images of them in action? Why this and not https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/1197 which still works amazingly? What's it for, why, when, how
