In-game item description:
"The rumbling of gears will give birth to insanity even in a sound mind. Can be shattered to induce temporal instability."
This mod adds the titular Gear of Madness, an item dropped from drifters that can be crushed (read: hold right-click) to reduce the player's temporal stability. It also adds an additional gear rumbling sound when at low temporal stability, the volume scaling with how low stability is.
If you know, you know.
A config file is available to enable/disable the Gear of Madness item and the low temporal stability sound behavior individually.
The config file can be found at 'VintageStoryData/ModConfig/gearofmadnessconfig.json' and will be generated upon first loading of a world with this mod enabled.

Atleast I didn't have to defeat a harpy making british jokes this time.
Makes me wish low stability didn't have the damage over time. The new mobs make low stability a very interesting and dangerous state to be in without it.
Similar behavior to the insanity sound mechanic in Don't Starve.
Pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of time/darkness/sky reference?
drong No, though I'd be rather surprised (and perhaps a little concerned) if anyone got this reference.
Is this a murder drones reference?

This mod sounds so cool, I would love to use it on my server. Is there any possible chance this ever gets updated?
Sempai_Nagi I added the release file, can't believe I forgot the most important part lmao. Making the gear spawn a rift on demand does sound like a cool idea though, may look into that in the future!
Like it already, is there a way to make a version, where you can throw that thing to "spawn" a Rift? Would be nice.. anyway, thx for it! [btw, there is no release file]
