OreGolems (Canceled)
Unfortunately, for personal reasons I no longer have time to develop this mod, but I have found new developers who will continue the mod.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words and your feedback! :)
Here you can find the new Mod (Recently updated to 1.19.4): OreGolems²

Thank you :) The idea came to me while I was playing because I was looking for a method exactly like this. At the time I also wondered why it wasn't in the base game (in some form).

Yes. I think it was even possible to do it without much effort. I think this will change in the next update (which will no longer be done by me).

Today I updated this to 1.19.4, but the new Mod was uploaded under OreGolems² by a new Developer. :)
Will be 1.19.3 update Qamarkarasu?
Hey, after experimenting with this a bit it's pretty nice. This being said, the hitboxes for the golems are strange, and it seems you have to aim between their legs to actually strike them. Is there any way this could be changed to more accurately reflect the size of the creature?
Brilliant Idea! A way to obtain ore (in small amounts) trough mob spanws is genius, I am suprised this isn't in the base game in some form :)
How would you say this differs from the Ore golems that already exist as apart of Feverstone Wilds? Curious, because I'm not sure if I want 2 separate kinds of ore golems and can choose between the two mods
I'm absolutely loving this mod so far in a worldgen which seems devoid of naturally occurring salt or limestone within 10k of spawn, which is where I tend to reside during the first few years of a world save. It's not a lot of limestone or salt all at once but it at the very least allows me to gather it, however slow it may be. I'm excited for the salt golem in the next update; are there any plans for golems such as sulfur, the mordants (not including cassiterite), or even ores that seem to not currently have a use in game beyond being collected like fluorite?

Thank you!. We are currently in the process of working on the spawn rates again, as it is not entirely clear to us exactly how many entities spawn at what value. Here is the description from the wiki: How long it takes to attempt to spawn the entity: 1.0 -> 4 seconds, 0.1 -> 40 seconds. At 0.01 it should take about 400 seconds for one to appear.

Next update salt golems :)

Thank you! :)
Hey sweet mod! I'm interested in adjusting the spawn rates myself to make things a bit more balanced. I found the "chance" parameter in the oregolem.json file and was wondering if these are percent based or how are they calculated?
Copper golem is set to 0.01, so is this a 1% spawn chance?
Thanks!
+1 for a salt golem, please, as I've never seen salt naturally occuring on dozens of hours of play.
The mod is really good, all working fine the models are simple and functional - Very good mod! will keep an eye on your progress :-)
as for the test version is not bad mod continue in the same spirit!

Thanks for your feedback. Currently you are absolutly right 😅. The model and the mechanic itself was just a prototyp to playtest this mechanics. In the next update the golems will be larger and more dangerous (and of course a better shape and texture). Currently we plan to vary the size depending on the golem type (e.g. copper < zinc < tin). The spawn rate will also be reduced slightly

Thank you very much for your kind words. 😇
The golems are rather wee, and give quite a bit of resource, was thinking the golems would be big and would be a challenge, kinda feels like they're an ore deliveroo of VS. once one kets killed it leaves his head behind, that's intentional?
I haven't tried this mod yet, but I've got to say that your splash screen is the single most glorious piece of artwork that I've seen in quite a while. Love it!
Currently I can't see any conflict with Feverstone Wilds. I installed both mods. So everything should actually work :)
Doesn't this conflict with Feverstone Wilds?
