A Vintage Story version of the Skyblock challenge map. This mod is simply a save so just toss it in your save folder. The world is 1024x1024 and completely empty besides the titular Skyblock. Tree growth rate is increased and hunger is decreased to compensate for the lack of resources. The map requires some mods to play, but I recommend others to make the experience more enjoyable.

Required

Not Enough Sand https://mods.vintagestory.at/notenoughsand

This mod allows you to turn stones into gravel which is essential to be able to acquire metal through panning in order to progress.

Expanded Matter https://mods.vintagestory.at/em

required for NES

Recommended

Still Useful Stuff https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/4208

Has a method for automated panning(which you'll probably be doing a lot of) and allows you to set up a welcome mat so merchants can visit your home giving you access to many items provided by merchants.

Wild Farming Revival https://mods.vintagestory.at/wildfarmingrevival

Allows propagation of almost every plant in the game. Nice if you want to expand access to certain plants, but not technically necessary.

Feedback on balance and any issues is much appreciated!

Mandikor Odd, I'll look into it. If you want a quick fix you can use the command /serverconfig setspawnhere

I started the game in single player. When I respawned, I landed directly under the island and fell into the depths again.

Mandikor hmmm thats odd it seems to be working fine when I redownloaded and tested the save. Where you playing on a server or just on singleplayer?

Unfortunately, the problem with the starting point does not seem to have been resolved. I started the map and fell into a bottomless pit during character creation.

DejFidOFF should be fixed in 0.2

Downside of this save, respawn point is under the isladn at 0-111-0 so, when you die, you getting endless looping of falling to the void... I decide to rebuild that and use.

Novalee Make a stone generator with lava and water. Be careful because sometimes when stone is generated by lava and water touching it will generate multiple blocks of stone, so make sure to space them apart.

How do you get the stones to make the sand?

DanaCraluminum Vintage Story is a little bit more oriented towards realism than MC so there are a lot less instances of making infinte resources out of nothing. If you were to do it unmodded you would need to almost completely change the premise.

Vanilla MC didn't require mods for this, why VS should?

Kara I thought about doing something like that, but ultimately decided against it. I may make a companion mod to go along with it if I feel it necessary. An ideal situation would be eventually making the skyblock a world generation mod so it would automatically generate an empty world with a skyblock as the spawn, but I would need to learn the world gen api.

ive thought about doing this, but having the map file in the mod itself, although the mod would be a BUNCH of patch files changing how the base game works. so drifters would drop all types of mats, to allow you to continue. like surface drifters would drop copper and rarly coal as well as clay.
