A cursed joke patch to let you insert worms into a pie. Sadly, pies are hardcoded to accept 2 of an item per layer, so I couldn't make each layer 8 worms for max protein gains.
Makes butterflies edible and lets you make them into pies too, Spoonail pointed me in the right direction on making them edible! No custom butterfly textures yet though because I spent an hour doing the lang file and my brain hurts.
Now has Termite and Grub pies with a unique filling texture!
REQUIRES Primitive Survival - that's where the worms come from!
Compatible with Expanded Foods - Overwrites their mixable termite and grub pies with our pure and holy unique fill textured version.

The much requested Grubs and Termites update is here! I was picking my brain today because the texture wasn't applying correctly, then i realized that Expanded foods already had termite and grub pies! However, this fixes a game breaking bug in expanded food bug pies - If you mix other ingredients, it becomes a mixed meat pie, we can't be having that! Also includes a unique texture for termite and grub pies instead of a generic one. | |||||||

I just want to second Zerithos suggestion of "Pile o' Worms" in part because this game needs an item called "Pile o' Worms"
Aarkan Termites and Grub pies have been in expanded food apparently, but I sat down and added those pies to this anyways. Expanded foods would let you mix proteins in those pies which is sacrilegious behaviour that I will not tolerate, so I patched their patch to fix this and also made variations of the pie filling texture for your pleasure.
What about adding grubs and termites as options?
You could also achieve the 8-worm layers by making an intermediary item. 4 worms in the crafting grid = pile o' worms -> pile o' worms gets stuffed in the pie. Done.
see if you can make a bushmeat pie next please!!! or maybe kabobs? i am thinking 1 meat or bushmeat + 1 veggie + 1 stick + 1 either meat or veggie again = a kabob.
now we can make large worm casting farms for a different reason besides bait.

perhaps a new bunch o'worms item would get the higher protein per pie layer
