Check out the comic that inspired this mod here: https://www.valsalia.com

Play Vintage Story as a yinglet! Yinglets are small creatures with a taste for mollusks, especially clams. (Model is not done yet, it will take a while to adjust all the vanilla clothes)

Other features:

-Live clams, find these in mud under water. They regenerate after a few days, eat them as they are or cook them into soups. Also a great source of lime!

-Small doors, yinglets need yinglet-sized doors. Split regular solid or crude doors into two of them.

-Grain allergies, yinglets cannot digest grain! Stick to other food groups.

Very keen to see this come alive again, there are a few people on the OOPs discord server decent with code who might be down to lend some help if it's needed.

Hoping this is still being developed. Know a few people who'd be interested it in it.

This mod makes me hopeful that we will get an Avali model if I continue to bring up how great it would be to have one. Hopefully someone also makes a mod that allows several player models on a server once the yinglets have one because I think that yinglets and avali would get along.

hey so im interested in making my own player race mod, is there any way you could help me? My Discord is @Gl00_  just like my username, thank you!

UnnamedSystem Great to hear! I'll raise a soup bowl in your name and on good progress.

_Mason Adding a species selector is beyond my coding skills at the moment, but maybe in the future that could be possible. I am currently working on the player model and the eye height has been adjusted as part of that. I will be turning down the clams yes, I agree that they are too plentiful. You can add clams to vegetable soup in the cooking pot as an optional ingredient.

Would it be possible for the race to be selectable in the future? I'm not sure if I myself want to be a scav all the time, but clams and the rest are a great addition overall.

I would maybe suggest the eye level to be a hair taller than one block for the simple purpose of being the tiniest bit above level with regular grass, then I managed to adjust it by myself but clams are maybe even a bit too plentiful for how much hunger they restore (I set them to 60sat myself, like berries), seemingly balanced for an exclusive diet or multiplayer. Maybe make a settings file for easier editing?

Last thing, I can't find the soup.

I was today years old when I learned what Yinglets are.

The implication that this mod makes you 1 block tall is quite possibly the most tempting thing I have seen. We need more games where you can be a tiny little thing.

All Is Ying! All is Ying!

Zat cool!

I would love to see more mods like this become a reality until VS has a cluge of fantasy races with unique structural styles.

💬 BluntTongs, May 18th 2023 at 1:23 AM

You must've read my mind because just last week I was thinking, "wouldn't it be sick if VS had a mod where you could be a yinglet? Too bad that's a lot of work and OOPs isn't THAT popular."

...Shows ME right!

this is actually a very cool concept and mod
glad to see people get creative with modding
