Latest file for v1.19.3:
tupaschatmod_1.0.3.zip 1-click install

Advantages

  • HTTP / HTTPS link handling
  • Handbook link handling
  • Moving between chat groups with alt + <chat group number> (eg: alt + 1 while focused on chat)
  • Group chat locking with alt + L (while focused on chat). It forces the current group chat to stay in place after receiving a notification. It will also keep the chat from opening if the message was received in a different tab.
  • Show your current item's handbook page (typing [item] in the chat)

Clickable HTTPS link visible in the chat

Credit

The functionality to find the current item's handbook and showing it was taken from BillyGalbreath's ChatLinkItem, with slight modifications to allow for client side resolution of the current item, as well as client-side hyperlink rendering.

possibility of adding a feature of turning off the join/leave notifications? would be a perfect addition to this great mod

Ohhhhhh I misread, i thought that was linking the current page you are on in the handbook :D my mistake

💬 TupaAuthor, Feb 21st at 8:48 PM

MishkaSnep you must hold an item in your hand to use that feature

Installed this but chat just says "Nothing" in chat when I do [item] even if I am looking at Catmint which you did in your example

@Maamessu

The Basics seems to be a server side mod, so (while I haven't tried it yet) I don't think it would affect compatibility.
There are not many chat mods at the moment, but chat mods that mostly only add commands shouldn't be affected.
The only mod that I'd be concerned about would be ChatLink mod, because the message would be interpreted before getting to the server, and people who don't have the client mod would not see a working link.
Maybe I'll add a config to avoid a clash with that one.

oops, sorry for that, I didn't realize a change I made affected the https link handling. It should be fixed now.

Would this be compatible with other chat mods, such as The Basics? I love the functionality presented here and really don't want to choose.

Hey, Thanks for this handy tool. While item links work I am not able to post a valid link HTTPS link, like in your example picture, to our discord. I tried in-game and through the server console but it still display it in plain text and not in hyperlink. Any information much appreciated. Cheers
