This mod adds various items and a new papyrus paper press which can be expanded with recipes.
 
Currently it does not add that much but i plan on expanding in the future. I am aiming for a mod that will improve survival aspects but also add some decorations to the game.

Features:

 

1. paper making from papyrus

    • rolling pin tool
    • paper press (different colors)
    • paper lantern (sphere) (ingame paper lantern is now craftable too)

2. glowing glass / glass slabs in various colors (creative only - no recipe)

3. Slightly lower blocks that serve as a street or path (different colors - creative only - no recipe)

 

 

 

Works in singleplayer and on multiplayer servers.

  • fixed reeds and papyrus cuting with scythe not giving any resources (thx to Lisabet for reporting)
  • now the default drop for papyrus is used for crafting instead of my own (old one can still be used if you have it, old one should also be replaced when upgrading to new version with remapping)

Th3Dilli This mod is installed on our multiplayer server. However, no recipes are shown in the handbook for a paper lantern made by this mod. https://imgur.com/a/SGdHrJG 

Also, the recipes are not linked to one another in the Handbook - I can find the worked papyrus recipe and then click images to get back to how to make the cut papyrus, etc. ... but they are not otherwise linked with "used in" recipes in the Handbook. I added additional screenshots in the linked imgur hyperlink (above) to illustrate.

Hello! I have a question about one of the recipes in the mod.

In the showcase video, the paper press is crafted using leather, but in the actual game it requires sturdy leather instead. Is this difference intentional?

Considering the time it takes to produce sturdy leather, it feels less efficient compared to the vanilla parchment method using linen pulp. Because of that, papyrus paper ends up feeling a bit less worthwhile to make.

!GLOW GLASS! !!!WOOHOO!!! I can finally put my house under a garden or pond and not feel claustrophobic. Haven't done that before? Try it on a flat roof house first. Glow glass, water, fish. Glow glass, water, crops or flowers. Create decorative patterns with your dirt for interest. I haven't been able to do this since The Competition got eaten by The Corporation That Shall Not Be Named. Again, !!!WOO HOO!!!

Nice mod, I wonder why we don't have paper from papyrus implemented in vanilla.

But is it possible to craft parchment from papyrus paper? For example 2 paper = 1 parchment?

Parchments are used for some mods, like billboards, they doesn't recognize paper.

it has been on the roadmyp to eventually add it but since a recent devlog shows that such a feature will be implemented in the game i wont plan todo so.
when book in the game are ready to be used ill for sure update that you can use the paper from this mod to make the books provided by the game

i added a release that has the snowball drop disabled

for a configurable option ill have to take a look how that is possible but not atm unfortunately

I enjoy this mod.  The snow gets kind of cluttery/annoying.  I also think it causes lag when i break big trees.  Is there any way to turn snowballs off?  Thanks!

version v0.1.6, using a scythe on cattails destroys the plant (you get cattail item, plant vanishes, no root gained)
