Temporal Prospector
This mod adds a new prospecting pick known as the temporal prospecting pick. It is crafted alongside nuggets, gems, or other raw ore resources to bind its ability to search for that type of material within a specified range.
The process is simple:
- Craft or obtain a normal prospecting pickaxe
- Use that prospecting pickaxe along with a temporal gear and a raw ore resource:
- Metal ores: 10 nuggets are required to craft
- Gems: 2 gems are required to craft
- Other (e.g. borax, quartz, etc): 4 of those raw resources are required to craft
- Set your radius to search in using your tool mode key (default: F)
- The bigger the radius, the more durability is used
- Mine a rock using the temporal prospecting pick and watch the magic
- Particles will spawn, directing you to nearby matching ores
- A chat message will display giving more detailed information
You can always change the resource the temporal prospecting pick is looking for by using the raw ore resources with the temporal prospecting pick in the crafting grid. This will erase the old resource type being searched for, wasting those ingredients from before.

So this mod only works when you've actually found the resource you're looking for? Like I can't find any Cassiterite, so I can't use this to help me find any?
I just tried it, seems to work from very short tests

This small mod makes my whole Vintage Story experience not so tedious. It's way better than vanilla prospector on so many levels
Is there any way to get this to work with rocks like chalk or limestone as well as ores etc? I'm having a hell of a time finding limestone for plaster and a quick way to find it would be great!
Thank you, that was all I was curious about. I use a mod called rock stiffer trying to find kimberlite (but I have never found it even cheating, not once in many a play through) and I have always wanted that mod to work with prospector info. So I was thinking if yours did, maybe his could be made too. Any way, thanks for the answer back.
Mendall This mod doesn't replace the normal pro pick, but adds a new one. Its functionally different than the normal pro pick, and gives different information than a normal pro pick.
While this mod could perhaps be wrangled into working with ProspectorInfo's functionality, ProspectorInfo does not recognize the Temporal Prospecting Pick as a pro pick as of Temporal Prospector v1.0.1.
Does this work with prospector info mod. I really like the skill required with the normal pro pick, so I'm just asking because I'm curious and because some will want to know for sure.
It's an alternative to make more people find more ore nodes if you're playing with friends who can't figure out the normal propick. I'm using this so that more people can find ore besides randomly stumbling on them in caves.
That said, since this mod updated recently, I made a pt-br translation for it... And it almost gave me a heart attack because of how Crowdin works. I seriously dislike that site.
Ruyeex It is certainly meant for a mid-to-late game timeframe. Plus it is best to craft these with a higher quality prospecting pick for more durability, making the craft even more worth it.
