A different way of saying it is that the ΔT of 1C is always equal to a ΔT of 1.8F. The temp values of the clothing is a ΔT, not an |T|.
A ΔT of 1F is equal to 0.55
5
C ΔT.Hmmm, so, not really, no? 3C worth of protection translates into 5.4F worth of protection. C*(9/5)=F or F*(5/9)=C the +/- 32 is only needed for when you are translating actual tempuratures not the amount of degrees of change.
But I imagine that the coding for the specific use case of thermal protection would be hell to code.
OpPointBaker Sort of.
Does this work on clothing thermal protection? i.e. gives -1.5C thermal proctection to -x F thermal protection.
KingOfTheMochas In what way? I just tested it and the temperatures of forge items are displayed correctly.
The temperature of ingots/work items in the Forge do not translate properly.
Well I don't use the HUD mod because I dont think it gets along with other mods I use cause it crashes my game. But have had no problems with this mod.
TheNiteFox Do you mean Simple HUD Clock? I tested it with that mod and it seemed to work.
gndrneutralnoun Good idea.
HUD mod only displays outside temperature doesnt display or change anything else sadly. Would be nice if this one and that one could both be installed at the same time because its really nice to see the temperature in top left corner.
Thanks for this mod btw, got so tired of seeing Celsius haha
Do you think you could add an option to display the temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit at the same time? I'm used to Fahrenheit because I live in the USA, but since Celsius is what the game is based on, it would be really nice to see both. Since I've been playing for a while, the temperatures for smelting or when an ingot is hot enough to smith with are in my head as Celsius, but if I could see the Fahrenheit display too I would be better able to understand how hot/cold something actually is.
Asked for this to be an addition into vanilla on the forums awhile back... but a mod will be gladly accpeted! Thank you so much for making this! Now I don't have to torture my only remaining brain cell with doing (yuk) math! lol (edited typo)
now I can finally understand the temperature relative to a frozen brine
Are you talking about Rhonen's HUD mod? You can already choose Fahrenheit in that mod. Or used to be able to. If memory serves, Shift-O (letter not number). It should show up under Esc --> Settings --> Controls
Still not playing nicely with HUD Clock mod. Changes my temp to XX.XXXXXX C - and I can't change it with the hot key, either.

That is Awesome! tyvm for this mod!
Thank you, my feeble American brain can finally comprehend how hot it is outside. I only ever understood Kelvin.
Indeed it does. Added a screenshot.
Question: Does this work with farming, providing information readouts of the temps converted?
