Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.18.15, 1.19.2, 1.19.8 - 1.20.0-pre.0, 1.20.0-rc.5, 1.20.1 and 1.20.3, potentially outdated):
single_use_firestarter_1.0.0.zip
1-click install
Typical first day: Knap a knife and axe, get some dry grass, chop some firewood, make a firestarter. Start a fire and light your first torch, then put the firestarter in a reed basket and never use it again.
This mod makes the firestarter break after it is used, saving you the inventory space.
The website says this mod is "Outdated". That is a dirty lie. It actually works fine on the latest version.

This is a great addittion for my artic survival challenge, grass is scarse so firestarters need to be used sparingly.
yeah i carry one around on me in case my torch in hand goes out while trying to get back home.
Note that although the mod itself works fine in 1.19.0, breaking a firestarter causes undesirable behaviour in the game. You may want to wait until this issue: https://github.com/anegostudios/VintageStory-Issues/issues/3459 is fixed before using it on 1.19. Fixed in 1.19.2
They're still useful, you can use them to relight your torch if it goes out.
What I do is wall-place them against a block so the next player can use it.
typical.
