New bag: Woven Grasket, in a pinch, and if you have the time to gather 3 and a half stacks of dry grass, you can now weave a primitive grass basket with 5 storage slots!
This mod adds a larger version of each bag in the game and adds four bags that focus on a trade skill. The four trades are Mining, Gathering, Hunting, and Woodcutting. The resources required for each bag are two of the base bags then additional materials but give more storage. This mod adds some new item tagging to support this. The recipes are already in the handbook, search "bag" and then scroll down past the cabbage. Please let me know if you run into any issues and I will look into them!

Any plans on updating? :)
When you manufacture and equip a bag other than the basic one you made, you can only pick up the consumables that fell and you can't move in it, are you willing to fix it?
Other than that, there is no problem and I am using it well.
This should still work with 1.19, there might be some new items that need tags but overall there isnt much that actually gets changed. I will look at the favorites mod and see if I can figure out how they are doing their colors. As far as the mining bags requiring a reload I will look into it.
This mod seems to be working fine in 1.19.4 (so far). The only problem I've ran into is that the vanilla Mining Bag (made from linen) is unable to be used unless you unload this mod, then put the bag into your bag slot, then re-enable this mod. The moment you take it off, you are unable to put it back on without doing the steps above again. Hope this can be fixed in the next update release.
Edit: After adding the Mining Bag to my inventory and re-enabling this mod, the bag shows blue slots however allows any item to be inserted inside instead of just mining related items. After also moving a "favorited" item from the favorite mod which has a golden colour slot, that blue colour goes away, so I assume the bag turns to a normal bag temporarily while also not being recognised as a bag to begin with due to the mods tagging system, but retaining slot functionality since the bag was already inserted in the inventory.
Edit 2: After creating one of the larger special bags, they also have the same behaviour conflicting with the favorite mod making any coloured tiles, become blank, while also erasing the favorite yellow tile colour making it very difficult to distinguish what is favorited and what isn't at a glance.
Any chance for a 1.19 update? Not many backpack mods on ModDB and this one is probably the best and would love to keep using it!
Great idea! I will look at implementing it!
Hey ! I'm using this mod for some time and it's an absolute lifesaver! Would you consider recycling older backpacks when you upgrade ? Currently, you just have them, but you can't use them anymore once you upgrade.
Okay, that's fair enough! Figured I'd check ^-^
Yup, that is correct, 18 for the standard Expedition Pack, the reasoning for that one is that it takes more than 2 full barrels of leather to make it, plus I wanted an end tier of backpacks that I could use to move bases with XD
I will likely lower all the bags a little once I finish the new bag I'm working on, a Metal Storage Cell, with 24 slots that calls for 12 metal plates(2xplates down both sides) an expedition pack (middle), and 6 linen (3 in the top and bottom middle slots) Likely these will take more/a higher tier of trade resource to then upgrade them to 30 slot trade variants.
My main design goal with my bags is that they should take enough mats to make a person work for 'em so it feels like an accomplishment!
Is the double leather backpack supposed to give you 18 slots instead of 12?
Thank you GreenM4N4 <3
@Votik The issue has been fixed, thank you for letting me know!
I will check on that! I bet I know what the fix is, give me a few minutes and I should have it updated here soon! I will check the other tools to be safe that I changed as well.
Bug:
This mod disables off-handing certain tools. Only exempt I found is the torch. Others like tongs or hammers cannot be off-handed for some reason- is this just me?
❤️
I'd like to recommend either an adjustment to the larger bags, or some kind of penalty to using them. It seems a little wrong to be able to access the equivalent of full leather backpacks on day one. Additionally, the large linen bags are so much harder to get than their reed counterparts - 24 linen sheets is... a lot of flax q.q
Having said that, I love this mod, and I especially love the trade bag variants! More versions and tiers of those is really great.
Any hope for compat with More Backpack Colours? :D
