If you want to play this mod with vintage story 1.20 i recommend starting a new world and use version 2.10 (release imminent) of this mod. All versions below 2.10 are NOT compatible with vintage story 1.20. If you want to transfer your world from 1.19.8 to 1.20 and already used this mod, here is the guide how to proceed:
Update Age of Confession to 2.0.8 and launch your world in 1.19.8. Remove/recylce the following blocks: All roof blocks (from this mod), all narrow windows, all build component items, all wooden shingles, most of the torah ark curtains. You can see what blocks needs to be removed by looking at them, since there is a block description for all these blocks.
Update your game and update the mod to version 2.10.

Love the mod! However, there is one thing with the doors that bugs me. If you open the vanilla doors, the "visible door" as well as the "interactable part of the door" open in the same direction. So you can always interact with the door while looking at it. The doors from your mod look like they are opening to one side, but the (invisible) part that you interact with opens to the opposite side. That means you actively have to look at the door hinge or just the opposite block from where the door opend to to close it again. Hope my attempt on explaining is somewhat clear.

You are free to use the assets as you wish, but I plan to create a light version as well and therefore ask you not to upload it to the modDB.
Hey! I absolutely love your mod. However, the sheer size of it seems a bit indigestible for running it in multiplayer when I tried to add it to my gf's server. It would invariably result in loading times exceeding 30 minutes for me, so I figured I'd like to ask you for permission for making modular versions of your mod.
Of course, I could do it for personal use, but would you be alright if I uploaded the modules to the VSMDB by myself? For example, a standalone fork with just the arches, named something like ChaosPrinzessin's Arches, another one for roofs, etc
i hope this eventually adds items inspired by the game lore. i love the game lore and would love to have more things inspired by it

VincenzoDiNeva The crash is probably not directly related to this mod. Vintage story with mods consumes significantly more resources than without mods, especially this mod, as it adds a lot of new blocks. However, there are also other causes for a ‘System.OutOfMemoryException’. Please follow the link I sent you in the Discord forum. The snow roof error has nothing to do with this. The bug a little more precise: Steep roofs consist of two blocks, whereby the lower one cannot currently receive a snow level (because there is a block above it)
Immediately after adding this mod the game crashes relating to snow accumulation, like mentioned in your description.

Beautiful cosmetic mod, lots of great details and effort. I'm a bit disappointed that big gothic archways clip when doors are used with them, but it's not that bad. Overall really cool things to see in game!

Hi, sorry for the long answer to a simple question. The roofs are currently undergoing a complete overhaul. In principle, however, the roofs will at least require copper technology. It's not just about realism, but also about keeping the game challenging. Compared to clay shingle roofs, the wooden roof is significantly cheaper and easier to produce. That's why I'm trying to make it a little more difficult to get started with wooden roofs.
To get debarked logs, I recommend the ancient tools mod from Taska. There are also many other mods that do this, so I wouldn't want to write my own recipe. In the future, shingles for three roof blocks will be obtained from one log.
Would you think about adding a bone version of the slitting wedge and chisle(or some other way of obtaing debarked logs)?
Maestro I think that would fit well. Asian-style roofs and archways are planned. I'm currently reworking all the existing roofs and unfortunately that's more complicated than I thought. Once this transformation is complete, I can simply add new roof shapes.
Dirty_Wizard Pagan religions have already been requested several times. I have collected a few ideas. Unfortunately, the next update will not contain anything like this except for special cellar hatches/trapdoors (pagan blood rituals must of course take place in the cellar). Two fictional religions with a connection to the vintage story are also planned. The Dave cult already has two items in the current version.
I know it doesn't really fit the "confession" descriptor, but will you ever add Shinto and Buddhist items to this mod?
I would love a version of this with an occult altar, or a shrine to the Old Gods like Cthulhu (or the Vintage Story lore equivalent).
Jenpai Yes garments are planned. However, there are already some pretty cool mods that go in this direction. Take a look at 'dressmakers' from Tels ;)

The_Ancient_One This mod doesn't 'add' religions. Quote of the mod description: "This Mod contains various assets for building churches, temples, mosques, synagogues". A version without the religion specific items (9) would be possible BUT require a lot of work i don't like to invest. I could make the religious items optional when i add a mod config file at some point, but not in the next release. If you like to further discuss this topic i invite you to the mod specific discord chat.
would it be possible for you to make a version of this that doesnt add in the real life religions, just the new materials?
I have the mod enabled but none of the stuff is showing up in creative menu. It shows up in the handbook but not the creative menu, Is this intentional?
Emberborn I changed my mind after thinking about it for some time now. At first i thought the gothic arches had to be a higher technology level than the round arches hence the harder to get materials used in the recipe. But now i think about a recipe with cobblestone and polished rock that are not too cheap but allow gothic cobblestone and polished rock variants.
Really enjoying having these window options and door arches! I ended up completely redoing my base to include them. At some point, will all of the items have both cobble and ashlar block borders (I'm using cobbled walls, so the largest window looked odd with the ashlar at the top)? I would also love to see a rose window in this mod's style to complete a cathedral aesthetic. Thanks for all of your work on this - it's really beautiful.

Herr_und_Meister Hi! I did not find any arches with missing recipe. Please list the archways you could not craft. Make sure, you have the latest version of the mod. When you have other mods installed, please send me your modlist. The inner wooden roof parts are coming, please be patient. Keep in mind, that they are not airtight and provide no sufficient shelter during winter. This is on purpose. Thanks for your feedback
SpacemanSpliff I'm glad you like it. I uploaded a hotifx. I'll rework the collision shapes and the room sealing behavior in the future, but for now all archways (even the open ones) are handled as solid block. i know this is quite a dirty fix, but i didn't have much time.

Unfortunate bug when working with this in survival, the Narrow Glass panels used for the arches are not counting towards sealing a space and calling it a room, can you please provide a fix?

Shroom_Ghost Sadly that applies to all my roofs right now, as they have no snow layer. But they are coming with the version im working on (v.2.0).
Alatyr That is a really nice idea, that would be awesome. I thought of such mechanics too, but (Really big but) that requires coding and thats beyond my capabilities. Nethertheless with the next update (v.2.0) AoC becomes a code mod. I got help and we made our first steps into coding. So maybe some day we can have some nice gameplay mechanics.
Should we expect advanced mechanics like sacrificing livestock on an altar to make rain? Or prayers for good yields?

Cpt_C0nfus3d I uploaded a hotfix. Are there still any errors? Unfortunately only vanilla wood works in the recipes for now. i might change it in the future

Catulo I experimented with seraph(human) shapes for buddha statues and wasn't happy with the result at all. i think the sames applys to your request regarding the crucifixes. Im not giving up, i just focused on something else in the meantime until i get better in moddeling.
Images of saints should be fairly easy, i'll add them to the planned features.
Among the upcoming sacred items, are you planning on crucifixes with a corpus and images of saints/icons as well?

Currently I'm working on nordic style roofs and decorations, so stay tuned for the next update coming in the following week. I apologise for the missing language files for the roof shapes i added in version 1.2. They will receive an update in the next version aswell.
I love what you're doing. Any chance you plan to add some paganism type stuff, such as Celtic, Norse, etc? Being Pagan I would love to see that too. And you're work looks so pretty, I bet you could make it amazing looking. <3

Johan_Horvat I plan to add assets for temples as well. As for the pagan religions, I've added 10 Celtic overlays for decoration in the upcoming version as a test. It's difficult to balance the transparency. However, I will not add statues of gods. I'll leave it up to the player to chisel statues.

Personally I think mods like these are in short supply when it comes to survival games like these. Religion has been part of human society going back over 40,000 years. It's only natural it'd be represented in some fashion. Y'all ever seen an ancient city without a temple?
I hope this mod is expanded to include it's original content and more. I'd love to see early religion, pagan representation, and maybe some niche ancient pantheons. So many opportunities.
This is a challenging topic to tackle, and I admire your willingness to do so.
breeze108 I'll add more religions in future updates and adding more content to the four i added i version 1.0. The pali canon is actually a scripture belonging to the buddhist religion, written on thin wooden sheets.
