Sick of trying to chase down and cull your older generation chickenshit chickens when they're hopelessly stacked up in a corner?

Do you want the chickenshits to stop crying bloody murder as soon as you're within shouting distance?

Maybe it'd be nice if the chickenshits actually kept sitting on their friggin eggs when you pass by the neighborhood, so that it didn't take so damn long for them to incubate.

Feature: Chickens generation 1 and above are now unafraid of the player. See versions below to decide if you want chickens to be afraid of predators.

Changes

Version 1.0.0: Chickens are completely unafraid and do not flee from players or predators (like a generation 10 chicken in vanilla) as of generation 1.

Version 2.0.0: Chickens are afraid of predators but not the player as of generation 1.

If it's not too much effort, could you perhaps make the generation at which they chill out a configurable value? I'd personally prefer if I could set them to something like generation 3, to mirror how other animals also have changes in behavior (or at least in the options in dealing with them) around that time. Would feel more seamless with the base game to me.

Still, I can see why other players might want it to happen in generation 1. Hence, maybe configurable?

got my first chickens, excited for a bountiful source of meat... but ive grown tired of giving them such a wide berth bc i stuck the rudimentary animal houses right outside my own abode. then killed a pullet on accident trying to wrangle some of the older chooks. thank you lol.

Installing this was like night and day. I had one remaining original chicken and now peace is restored to the barnyard. Thank you!

Could you make this compatible with More Animals' pheasants and turkeys??

would be neat if this was configurable instead of being different files.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. I agree that the chickens running amok - especially with such a crazy detection range - makes keeping and breeding them an awful chore. I considered reducing just the range that they are startled by the player, so as to keep them generally calm and brooding until the player actually enters the henhouse. It's more of a compromise between vanilla and version 2, but it leaves the issue of culling lower generation chickens (with any accuracy) practically impossible still.

I like this mod, I tried it, seems to be working fine, Before the mod I had to place my Hen house away from the base because of the noise and the corner stacking behaviour,
I think the game mechanic of live stock changing behavior over generations is a bit unrealistic and tries to mimic the theory of evolution in an impractical way, domesticatable animals are animals that when bread in captivity  imprint on humans and thrive in captivity or while ferals and non-domesticable do not and may even attack their owner,
