This mod adds in the abililty to set an alias for the in game nameplate. it comes with two commands

  • /playeralias set_alias {new_alias}
    • sets the current player to a new_alias
  • /playeralais remove_alias
    • resets the current player to their default name

It also adds in the abililty to hide other players on the map using this command

  • /mapHideOtherPlayers {true : false}

Seems like most of the issues karmatose was stating a couple months ago are still around, people's aliases weren't applying properly/no persistence.

are there permissions or can any player change their nameplate?

Hey! We just added this to our server and it seems there are a couple issues with how aliases display. Namely:

  • When first changed, aliases appear to display properly client-side, but if I want other players to be able to see my nametag, I need to relog first.
  • When players go out of range of another player and then return into their range, the alias disappears.

Note that we are testing this in conjunction with a couple other mods, most relevantly:

  • TheBASICs RP Chat mod
  • Cancel Book Signature
  • Itemizer
  • Th3Essentials.

I doubt these would affect your mod, but I thought I'd mention them just in case they would. Hope this helps!
