Originally, all metals granted the same number of nails. Now there's a reason to use your higher tier metals for nails, instead of just using whatever you have the most of.
Tier 1 consists of Copper, Gold and Silver metals, Resulting in 4 nails per Ingot.

Tier 2 consists of Tin Bronze, Black Bronze and Bismuth Bronze. Resulting in 6 nails per Ingot.

Tier 3 consists of Iron, Meteoric Iron and Steel. Resulting in 8 nails per Ingot.

Tier 4 consists solely of Cupronickel. Results in 10 nails per ingot. New Cupronickel Plate added! 👍

Does this work on 1.20?

I would recommend modifying the re-smelting recipes so that one can't just duplicate metals like Iron or Bronze (4 nails makes an ingot for a lot of nails, though not all of them).

I'm glad to hear it still works in the latest rc versions. I am slowly regaining interest in the game at the moment and may be around to update anything that stops working.

I think little mods like this are quite nice. Too often balance considerations are not really factored into metal tiers aside from tools.

I haven't had my hands on that stuff yet, but I sure can add it to a tier.

What about cupronickel?
