Simple mod that changes the drop rates for tree seeds. Replaces all specific tree type overrides with the values for the highest type (currently acacia and birch at 0.12/0.05). This will greatly increase the availability of some seeds (especially "rare" types such as ebony, purpleheart, and redwood) but should definitely make all tree types able to be sustainably farmed.

This mod was created because we felt that the length of time required for trees to mature, in addition to the difficulty of first obtaining them (and getting a clipping), is sufficient to balance the wood types of these rarer trees in our small multiplayer server. The inability to create larger builds with some of the different woods was quite frustrating.

Rythillian NateDoesLife Pals, it's a json-based mod, it is up to date forever unless the devs dramatically change all the keywords (which won't happen).

Working in farm country, I hate the idea that game trees can't be crafted into saplings as easily as real ones. One of my neighbors propigated twelve saplings out of one ten foot tree (he ran out of seed pots). The next year he propigated the rest of his windbreak. Commoners and farmers are smarter than the game gives us credit for. I think the mechanic of putting branchy leaves on good soil, or seed into a farming block should have at least a 50/50 chance of rooting, and increase with the player in close vicinity. The chances are better in real life. I'm still using the mod.

v1.1.0 update: Fixed double seed drop typo for normal leaves, adjusted greenspirecypress to be higher drops since it is only a cosmetic tree anyway.

Theisgood Yes, that's correct. The drop rates for all trees should now be the same as Acacia and Birch as listed on the Wiki:

I am actually testing a version with doubling the seeds for Green Spire Cypress again (to 0.25/0.1) given that in our current world they're still almost impossible to reproduce - they only have 5-6 blocks of leaves, so it's highly likely to get less than one seed back from them. They're also entirely decorative, so this feels like a "cosmetic" change rather than game balance.

So this brings the chances up to 12% with branchy leaves and 5% with normal leaves? Sorry I am bad at math I am probably wrong. lol
