I have taken the full bear assets for the 1.17 Pre release and backported them to 1.16. No big deal really it was all there except for the spawn conditions and some tweaks to different types.
Right now only a single male bear and its companion female shoud spawn at a time, while the chance is extremely rare, you will probably die. have fun!
