Latest file for Various v1.19.x:
VisibleTerraPretaParticles-v1.1.1.zip

I'm living in Ukraine and there is war happening right now. Most of my free time I spend on modding when I get a few hours between electricity blackouts.
If you love my work, you can support me on Patreon, I would greatly appreciate it ❤️. Donations keep me doing what I truly love - modding.
Adds noticeable particles above terra preta and high fertility blocks. Doesn't affect farmlands.
Configuration file
Configuration file is located in VintagestoryData/ModConfig, it is appeared after loading any world.

Any way to add a toggle to this? It's great when you're out exploring in the wild but annoying before you till it into farmland
Any chance of an update for this?? The config file keeps reverting, as previously stated.
Instead of
if (api != null)
do a
else if (api != null)
sushieater Absolutely no clue how to fix it

Your ConfigParticles has a bug. It always generates a default config that gets stored:
github.com/Craluminum-Mods/VisibleTerraPreta-Particles/blob/main/src/Configuration/ConfigParticles.cs#L21
Mohaim It reverts only when there is error
How do I get my custom config to stick? When I try to edit the config file, it gets overwritten with the default values. If I make the file read-only, the mod doesn't work anymore and the particles don't show at all.
Malnaur This is what mod configurations are for
DanaCraluminum
What I like about the specific mod set is the ability to turn them on or off easily in the mod manager.
Malnaur My mod allows to add resin blocks to configuration, but only one particle thing for all blocks sadly
JD2 I just put the resin particle mod up as my first mod. Search for Visible Resin Particles
Okay I just checked it again, it only affects blocks with fertility "high" (terra preta) and doesn't affect fertility "compost" which High fertility is using
Hemril Looks like blockcode that should produce particles didn't change in 1.19, so my mod still works
Thap Yes it is game limitation
Hemril Yes
I assume stable 1.19 will have to come out first before switching it around to the high fert soil that generates now?
The particles only appear if you're about less than 70 blocks away. Is it a game limitation?
Malnaur Any chance you can share the resin version?
I made a variant for resin and played with the velocities so the particles spawn more horzontally and slowly fall downward. Works great!
Go for it! I did like the hacked copies since I could use different colors for the particles depending on what it was. The colors did not seem orrect for the HSV values I tried but they were definitely different. I also played with glow particles. Neat.
Malnaur I want to add meteorite and halite particles to this mod
@DanaCraluminum Confirmed! I hacked a copy of your module for blocks matching '*halite*' and it worked fine for a world I have where I found a halite deposit. I buried a halite block under a layer of dirt below a layer of sand and the particles floated through both. Please go ahead and create two mods to cover halite and meteoritic iron desposits. You did 99.9% of the work and you deserve the credit/subs. I suspect TerrainCollision=false is why the intervening layers don't matter.
Apparently you do @DanaCraluminum :) I put down a TP block and surrounded it on six sides with soil blocks and the particles wafted up just fine! It might require a taller max height to be sure you clear the top layers I suppose. And halite while you are at it ;) At least salt beds will be visible.
Malnaur I don't know how to make particles pass through blocks
Love this! Can you do the identical thing with meteoric iron?
psst, you should lower the default particle count to 0.1 instead of 1.5
just need a hint, not a wall of Stench
_Mason Chemist Added config
Hi. Was hoping to see how I can make the particles more visible? I dont really understand the json files. Not a programmer.
Thanks, DanaCraluminum, That's all I need to know.
Rivernoodl It only works with Terra Preta
Does this mod work with Terra Tweak? Just curious.
Craluminum if you can, that would be fantastic. Thanks for the effort, I tried some basic modding when I found a mod that didn't have the values I like, but so much is still way beyond me.
_Mason I can make particles configurable
The particles are a bit too tall. I like the idea but maybe make the particles disappear 2-3 blocks high? And have fewer particles in general. It would be harder to find terra preta, but still this looks like a forest fire more than "stink lines".
Foxy_Grandpa I can confirm this does indeed world on an pre existing world, finally found some after what feels like forever
Does this require a new world to be made or can it be added to a pre-existing world?
