Warm Armor

Overview

This mod adds warmth to some armor pieces, as well as changes armor condition to match current durability to prevent always max warmth on armors with "warmth" attribute.

Changes include:

  • When armors are given warmth attributes, their condition (which affects warmth given) will now match their durability.

  • Brigadine, scale, and plate head armors provide 0.5°C of warmth.

  • Leather jerkin, chain, brigadine, scale, and plate body armors provide 2°C of warmth.

  • Leather jerkin, chain, brigadine, scale, and plate leg armors provide 1°C of warmth.

  • Lamellar head armor provides 0.25°C of warmth.

  • Lamellar body armor provides 1°C of warmth.

  • Lamellar leg armor provides 0.5°C of warmth.

  • Sewn and tailored Gambeson head armor provides 1°C of warmth.

  • Sewn and tailored Gambeson body armor provides 3°C of warmth.

  • Sewn and tailored Gambeson leg armor provides 1.5°C of warmth.

Config Settings (VintageStoryData/ModConfig/ToolworksAdditions.json)

  • PatchEntityBehaviorBodyTemperature: Enables or disables harmony patch that changes how armor with warmth condition is handled for armor; defaults to true.

  • PatchItemWearable: Enables or disables harmony patch that changes how condition for armor is generated on craft and item creation; defaults to true.

Broken with 1.20.x; will release a fix soon.

EDIT: Released v1.20.x-1.2.0, which should only be used with 1.20.x and above

hey. I had an issue where crafting recipes for armor were unclickable in the guide book. You could check armor recipe only when you searched for it, but not by clicking on materials used to craft it, like chains etc. Guide book was also showing twice the ammount of armors available to craft. can you have a look?

Our server has several mods and I didn't get any error or anything suspicious in the logs, but after removing the mod it went back working normally again.

Done. Additional armors have been set to provide warmth values listed above in the mod description.

Based on personal experience and research as well as a few opinions from others, metal armor can also be very warm when worn. Specifically plate and maille armor. Perhaps adding warmth to those would also be immersive

Are you positive that it is this mod causing your issue? We run this mod in our server, and have had no problems. There are some bugs we have seen before this mod was created similar to what you describe; sometimes a player would look like they are constantly taking damage to others or themselves, but it wasn't removing health. A quick relog fixed the issue.

I can't think of any of the changes that would cause the behavior you describe. If you are confident that it truly is this mod, please file a ticket on the Issue tracker link above and copy your client and server main logs.

Hello. There's a bug that causing animation to clutter or causing it to play incorrectly. Another one causes to deal(?) small instances of dmg when u wear armour even if you are not freezing, restarting help sometimes but not always.
