This mod allows you to toggle your step height.
Useful if you want to save your wrists. It is also considered an accessibility feature.
and toggleable using ALT + I (configurable in controls)
The step height is tracked server-side. Servers (and singleplayer people) can enable an additional double block step height by setting
"DoubleBlockStepAllowed": true in StepHeightServerConfig.json
This will allow the step height to be toggleable between 0.6, 1.2, and 2.2 step height.
Note that this is not compatible with other mods that change your step height (like XSkills Steeplechaser ability).

The mod (or any similar mods) don't work with Fishing 2. Fishing 2 replaces all the physics with some custom physics.

It works without any problem, must to see which mods are not compatible.
This is not working. The Step-up mod isn't working either:

Can you post the logs here?
LunaGore - Do you have Fishing 2 installed? They are currently incompatible.
Suddenly causing a crash, I can post the logs here or on github depending on which you prefer.
I tried this out for curiosity. And was very impressed. This is an elegantly done mod. I however enjoy the jumping thing, getting skilled at it is like a little mini-game within the larger game. But this sure would save a lot of wear and tear on my poor keyboard switches. And it was a joy to use, so I might find my way back to it in time. Great work.

This mod also sets the step height server-side, leading to less exploiting (the server happily will accept any step height you use in that other mod)
What is the difference?
