SuaveDoggo The reason drifters can spawn in carpets is because carpets in VS are treated as a decor layer (something overlayed on top of a block, like moss and stone cracks), and not as a block. So as far as the game is concerned, it's air.
Preventing drifter spawn should probably work with any thin block, like loose sticks, single-height panned gravel, candles, boulders, clutters, blocks chiseled to be only one voxel high, carcasses, paintings from Joy of Painting...
SuaveDoggo, It's actually extremely simple. All this mod does is replace the "insideBlockCodes" from this ["air","tallgrass-*","loosestones-*"] back to the original of this ["air","tallgrass-*"]. You could very easily do the opposite and add more values to it instead.
I'm not sure if this mod just reverts to old code or was actually rewrote to mimick the old bug, but I'd love for a version of this that gave more "options" for things to prevent spawns, like carpets and such ! A more aesthetically pleasing alternative, though that's probably a lot more work than it's worth
