This mod is a minor adaptation of the Visible Terra Pretta mod by Craluminum. This mod adds rising particles from any meteoritic iron blocks nearby. The particle parameters make them visible even for blocks buried several layers deep. OOB, the particle color is a distinct shade of magenta versus the other Visible Particles mods.

If you like this mod, support Dana, who is a one-person mod machine. See https://mods.vintagestory.at/vtp for more info. All bugs are on me though. I will be releasing source as well.

People have suggested combing this series into one mod but I will continue to support them as separate mods for three reasons:

  1. Do everything mods already exist.
  2. Expecting players to all know the technical details to modify config files is unfair to those who are too young, too inexperienced, or simply not interested in the tech, and just want to play the game. The built in mod manager makes it trivial to turn off ones you are not using right now and turn them on when you are, without touching the config directory.
  3. The indivudal mods support individual behavior and colors customized to their target blocks to make indentification easy at a distance.

Enjoy.

Sevie

You can change the particle parameters by editing the config file. Make them behave however you like.

personally i think the particles need to be much more subtle, this feels very cheaty.
edit, i guess that's kind of the point of this, my bad 🐱. would be nice to have the option though, even though this is just a fork of another mod.

I will be sharing the source at some point but it's really a tiny tweak to Dana's mod for which source is provided. See https://mods.vintagestory.at/vtp

This looks very useful! I'll try it when I play tonight.

Do you mind sharing the source code on Github, Codeberg, Gitlab, or whatever? This will be super useful for other people who are trying and failing to build mods (like myself)

I changed the game version here to only be 1.19.1

💬 MalnaurAuthor, Jan 21st at 1:17 AM

cool. Thanks

💬 Dankbud, Jan 21st at 12:42 AM

updated to 1.19.1 and it doesnt give the error now. unsure if your update fixed it or upgrading to 1.19.1 fixed it because i did both.
have not found iron yet to see it in action but i assume it will work.

The mod depends on .net 7 but so does the game? What errors are you getting?

💬 NeonScorpion, Jan 20th at 7:00 PM

says its missing dependencies :(

💬 MalnaurAuthor, Jan 20th at 1:07 PM

I think the dependencies issue is resolved. Try the new download.

💬 Dankbud, Jan 20th at 11:48 AM

says unable to resolve dependancies, im on 1.19.0

💬 Chriswaffle, Jan 20th at 8:51 AM

Hey hey, I also love the Terra Preta particles mod, I just installed yours and it says unable to resolve mod dependencies? I am still on 1.18.15.
