Latest release (for outdated Vintage Story v1.20.1):

This mod is a minor adaptation of the Visible Terra Pretta mod by Craluminum. This mod adds falling particles from any resin-bearing tree block. The particle parameters make them visible even just below ground if the tree extends into it.

If you like this mod, support Dana, who is a one-person mod machine. See https://mods.vintagestory.at/vtp for more info. All bugs are on me though. I will be releasing source as well.

People have suggested combing this series into one mod but I will continue to support them as separate mods for three reasons:

  1. Do everything mods already exist.
  2. Expecting players to all know the technical details to modify config files is unfair to those who are too young, too inexperienced, or simply not interested in the tech, and just want to play the game. The built in mod manager makes it trivial to turn off ones you are not using right now and turn them on when you are, without touching the config directory.
  3. The indivudal mods support individual behavior and colors customized to their target blocks to make indentification easy at a distance.

Enjoy.

OK. try this version. Let me know. It works for me for pine. I haven't checked for acacia but it should work The particles will stop when the resin is harvested and reappear when it respawns.

The other 'visible' mods seem to work fine.

@Malnaur
Makes perfect sense to me!

I don't track pre-release candidates. I will look into it when 1.20 drops.

Just wondering if there are plans to update this for 1.20. Currently with 1.20.0-rc.6 it does not work.
Thanks for making mods.

The color looks more resinlike for sure but I find the particles too pale to spot easily after wandering through a large pine forest on claystone sand. I may experiment more but you can obviously set the config your way to suit your taste! Thanks

Try these for colors for the resin particles and see what you think.

@Pervy_Sage Giood catch. Thanks. Fixed.

Malnaur The discription in the Mod Manager states "Add noticable particles above meteorite blocks." I assume you copied and pasted this from your Visible Meteorite Particles mod and forgot to change it.

I could but the 'H' in the HSV functions does not seem to match the HSV standard so it's a hunt. The green I'm using actually stands out very well in all conditions so that's what I stuck with. If someone wants yellow or orange, they can play with the cofig file :)

💬 DanaCraluminum, Jan 19th 2024 at 9:00 PM

You could make particles yellow and orange
