Many actions in the game require a free hand to perform. Now you can press a hotkey (R by default) in order to move your currently held item stack into a backpack slot! Especially useful when cooking a lot of meals, taking from pit kilns, or managing piles.
Use CarryOn and need both of your hands free? There's a hotkey (Shift + R by default) for that too.

Technical Info
Either hotkey can be changed in the settings menu once you are in a world. It will not show up in the main menu's settings option.
This is a purely client-side mod, so it should work on servers that don't have it installed.
Should work perfectly with any .net 7 build as well.

Rabbie I have been using that mod for the whole 1.19 and never had a problem. Are you playing on a stable version?
Hello I wonder if you know of any reason why this mod would just not work? It installs fine, but any time I set a keybind (including default R) nothing happens. I have checked that there are no other keybind conflicts. If you can help that would be super, this is such a must-have mod I can't beleive it's not in Vannila
Not necessarily requesting this as I think it goes beyond what this mod set out to accomplish, but would it be feasible to just have an extra, blank slot that isn't visually displayed and cannot have any items enter into it, that allows you to press R to "holster all" (which is actually just switching you over to that empty hand slot that cannot be filled), and then pressing 1 - 0 will switch you back to an item? It's always bothered me that we can't swap to our hand slots conveniently, and while this mod helps immensely, it is a bit of a bummer that you still have to open your inventory to retrieve the stored item when you want it back.

yeah there's so many cases where something will only work from an open hand, even in bizarre cases like removing pottery from a pit kiln with a stack of the same item in your hand, needed this badly
Perfect mod, no notes
I use this non-stop every play session. I rarely remember the Shift+R combo, but man, I can never play without this again. Please never stop making sure this works with new versions. Truly ought to be a vanilla feature.
