More Drifter Loot v1.5.4

A mod that makes drifters drop more varied loot to act as an unconventional source of some resource types and as an actual motivation to kill drifters beyond just survival- you'll want to go out and kill drifters during the storms instead of locking yourself in your house, the drop rates aren't fantastic by design but it provides an imprecise way of gathering resources that could potentially require impractical amounts of travelling to locate if you're dedicated to it.
Since drifters now have the potential to drop more than four items (which won't fit in the four-slot virtual inventory and causes errors if more than four items are placed in this inventory), as of version 1.5.0 drifters will now drop their carried items onto the ground when they die similar to locusts and bells, and their bodies despawn in a very small fraction of the original time (15 in-game minutes down from the original 3 hours). You no longer have to harvest/skin drifters like you would with other animals.

Currently the drop table for drifters includes:

Spoiler!
Original flax fibre, rusty gear and temporal gear drops, Resin, medium hides, flax twine, linen, leather, uncommonly nuggets (copper, tin, zinc, bismuth, silver, gold), ore chunks (rarely poor and very rarely medium), rarely non-graded minerals (alum, sulfur, halite, lapis lazuli, lignite, bitumenous coal, anthracite, olivine, bauxite, quartz, clear quartz, amethyst, rose quartz, smoky quartz), rarely loot vessels and a couple of goodies for the two-headed drifter.

BlueFuryDragon Good catch I missed re-adding the temporal/rusty gear and flax fibre drops to them when I gave up trying to structure the patches so the original table values are preserved instead of just replacing them, I've just uploaded a patch now

I'm curious, do they still drop gears? The blue ones and the money kind. I'm not seeing any, before I would get gears occasionally.

BlueFuryDragon In this mod all drifters drop their loot onto the ground like locusts and bells do now so you don't have to harvest them any more, I'm sorry I didn't think to update the description when I made this major change, I have changed it now to better describe this feature.

Can't loot drifter. Not getting any error. I have a bunch of mods, but cntrl right click isn't working. I'm on 1.16.1. Can harvest animals, but not surface drifters, also there is no tool tip. After looking more closely, did you mean to say that when they are killed the items just spill all over the ground? Better discrption whould lesson confusion. Also, if I am correct, please inform me and if THAT is the case, that is wonderful as I have lost loot by not being able to loot them in time with all the rocks knockback and whatnot.

Shion I haven't tested it but it should be mostly compatible with Better Drifters, version 1.4.2 definately should be compatible with it as it  only changes the drops but versions 1.5.0 and onwards change and delete some behaviours which may result in unusual and unintended behaviour or errors.

Randwulf I think you got lucky, most ore drops are <3% drop rates and for surface/deep drifters some are <1%, anyway the surface/deep drifter rates have been reduced for 1.5.1

I feel like the drops chances for some items are too high and thus breaks the intended progression (unless I was the only lucky one to drop both a big chunk of Bismuth and Sphalerite from surface drifters in one night).

I can see it being a nice addition for unconventional drops, but only if there was a way for the lesser drifters to drop way less stuff (as in 1 early game item at most), thus enticing you to explore caves and/or wait temporal storms.

Will this work with Better Drifters mod?
