Can the ores be made chiseable (and lose the juicy bits on it)? Sometimes I use ores as decorative flors and I've found out that with this mod active it can't be done. (PS.: I usualy deactivate the mod, chisel the ores I want and then turn the mod on again)
Could the source please be added? (Yes I'm aware one can just go look at the patches in the .zip, but I'm talking about hosting this source on GitHub). Thank you.

In ore-gem.json line 39 you accidentally used the wrong filepath which is causing missing textures with some mods.
This is the line: "*": { "base": "block/stone/ungraded/{type}" } and this is what it's supposed to be: "*": { "base": "item/resource/ungraded/{type}" }.
Additionally, vanilla Alum does not have a texture in item/resource/ungraded resulting in it showing up as missing in-game.

is there any way to make this client side only? i miss it so much on severs i play that do not have it. the visible ores mod is not good enough.

This is one of my 'can't play without', essential mods. Thank you for making this.
initially i thought "i don't need this, ores are visible enough for me" when coming across this mod, but that quickly changed when i experienced trying to mine sphalerite veins contained in andesite :')

Thank you so much for this mod! I'm an older player and I found out recently that I'm developing cateracts. Trying to see some of these ores in a dark cave can be near impossible for me if there is a lot of light around my computer.

Aki_II It isn't this mod, as I've encountered the same bug, and I don't have this mod installed. We should probably compare mod lists so we can find out where to report this bug.
Not sure if its this mod specifically but sometimes ores look like plain stone. Tooltip at the top of the screen tells me im looking at plain stone but when i mine it, it drops ore. So far i've seen this happen with gold, malachite, and sphalerite.
Anyone have tips for how to disable the juicy effect just for plain quartz in the json files? It's so common I would rather not have it pop out.

I would be happy to help but if it doesn't use server side code it probably requires a ` "side": "Client"` key/value in `modinfo.json`.
ongandu It is server side because I have absolutely no idea how to make it client side
Looks like a great mod and very much needed as of v1.20.7 (maybe this will be patched at some point) lot's of ores are very difficult to spot and it's not accessible. e.g There's nearly no difference between Zinc in Granite and Granite.
Is there a reason why it is server side as well? Could it be patched to just be client side potentially since it is only visual?

is there any ability to seed a face of a block to have an offset of the model or something, i really like it but particularly with quartz or olivine it's very repetitive, other than that an awesome mod.
With those of us with bad vision, this is a great mod!

tRead not much, sadly. Best I've found is Glowing Ores and Bits mod which is helpful in low light levels, but in the worst cases I'll use a scanner mod to locate surface copper bits and tin bits to make bronze then go underground where glowing ores helps you find things in the caves.

Are there any other tips or mods you'd recommend for playing VS with color-blindness?
Not sure if it would be an add-on for this mod or a new mod, but is there a way to make the ores you find on the ground equally 3d juicy? I had a run where I couldn't find surface tin (I'd made it common in world gen) but when I used a scanner mod I found the ore was everywhere, but brown 'highlights' on a dark block is invisible for me. 3d ore bits would help. Either way, love this mod and can't play without it.

It does add some visual interest to ores, but I feel that it gets a bit cluttered and repetitive, especially for larger visible ore veins (quartz for example).
It would probably be more effort than you'd believe it to be worth (considering if it's even possible?), but I would suggest only having a random amount of protrusions from the ore, with maybe some variance in models- different shapes, different amounts of protrusions, etc. So, maybe 25-50% bare ore, the other 75-50% having a randomized model set.
Again, only a suggestion that you're obviously not beholden to in any way! It's still a good idea and good as is, even if not to my personal preference. :)
I feel like less protrustion might look nicer, but i guess we don't have that many pixels to work with here 😂

Did you consider using the ingame crystallized versions of ores? They are more interesting and complex than rectangles.
Will this mod work for other mods that add additional ores?
