A collection of small and medium cats of the subfamily Felinae, these predators will act as an elusive danger players will have to avoid, and protect their livestock from, as well as a potential food source themselves.

Meat can be set on the ground that will temporarily sate predatory cats, making them ignore the player unless they get too close. Or meat can be used to lure them into hazardous terrain.
When hunting prey, the Felines will slowly stalk their target before pouncing once close enough. Evasive and observant players should be able to escape in time and avoid conflict when not equipped to do so.

A: Get a male and female adult of a given species within 10 blocks, wait until the female is ready to mate and feed her the sufficient number of portions and the male at least one. Different species require different amounts and can be found in the entity file under the multiply section. Animals can be fed either by dropping items on the ground or by using the large trough. The small trough is not supported at this time due to patching formats. Each species diet can be found in this mod's description or in their entity file under the diet section. After 10 generations, entities stop attacking the player and after 10 generations they will no longer flee the player. Only the mother's generation matters for progressing generations.
Q: Why so many animal packs? Can't you make one giant one?
A: The combined size of this series exceeds the Mod data base's file upload size limit and therefore could not be hosted on this site, making it extremely difficult for servers to use. What's more, I don't know just how large certain clade file sizes will get as new features come out and I want to ensure they don't need to be split in the future, as that may cause considerable server issues. Whenever mod packs are implemented, or if there are other resources for creating a more organized bundle, I will do so.
Q: Is this mod safe to add and remove to an existing world?
A: Yes, this mod series is safe to add and remove. Items from this mod that have been placed will be invisible or appear as question blocks if the mod is removed but can be safely broken.

So pretty much no chance of a saber cat mount, the mount system adds a lot of content and takes time and I already have folks asking for lighter versions of these mods so they can have more animals. As for taming, it depends on how that is implemented to the base game. If it requires a separate entity for each species, I may not add it to all animals as it would dramatically increase the RAM impact of these mods _WillowWisp_
in the future will we be able to tame any of your prehastoric creatures? (cats for example) id love a pet lynx or saber or a saber mount!.
Not currently, but it is possible to domesticate them over generations!

I'd recommend checking irl strategies, a quick google suggested putting a roof over chicken coups, or housing them with or near an animal that deters lynx
How do you protect farm animals from the Lynx if they can climb?
That's correct, configs are at the bottom of my to-do list so the only ones in are those from the community that I've added to the mods. Thus far, that's only been the red meat drops from rhinos Juanbajo
Hey, Im just setting up a small server with friends and I am wondering why there doesnt seem to be any server configs for the animals except Rhinocerae, is there something I have screwed up in my setup?
No, they do not conflict with Terra Prety. There are a number of reasons why you might not being seeing them without bugs, like you're view distance is too low that they can't spawn with their minimum distance to player (50 or 100 blocks for certain entities) you could be in an area with elusive animals that spawn and hide from the player, or you could just have had bad RNG. I suggest using the command /entity count to see what all has spawned
Is this /and your other stone age fauna mods/ possibly conflicting with Terra prety? I dont know but i literally didnt see a single animal from the mod after an hour of gameplay, but the mod IS there since i can spawn the animals in creative.
Ah gotcha, in that case it's more a warning about the eventual inclusion of the puma

Sorry, I did not playtest it yet as I'm in the middle of updating my mods (btw Fotsa last time I used was just 3 mods, now it's 15... lol) and was basing my comment off of the mod description here on the page, which makes it sound like they're actively hunting players.
Well in my game, lynxes have never attacked me yet. They run away more or less far if I get too close.
What you're describing should be their in game behavior. I'll check their ai tasks to make sure I didn't get the priorities out of order DarkThoughts
Hm, Lynx aren't really hunting humans and would rather flee up some tree if they were nearby. I think they should be rather semi-aggressive like foxes where they may defend themselves if cornered, since they're rather shy creatures.
I'd love to domesticate them though. :)

Weird! I'll delete all the mods and reinstall, I'll delete the configs as well.
Edit: Whatever was still throwing errors has now been resolved. Thanks for giving me the idea to try that!
I'm not sure how that patch error is still there, since I removed that patch a couple updates ago. I'll poke around with it
I am still getting that really weird error on loading a world with CO as well. The error goes away when I disable FotSA Felinae, but I'd really prefer to play with it enabled.
Unfortunately there isn't a way of specifying what types of blocks an entity can climb, or giving them a unique climb animation, so for animals that are known to frequently climb trees this is how I'll implement it. Hopefully down the line we'll get better options for arboreal animals FlareFluffsune
I had my first encounter with a Lynx and her kitten today.
Both of them literally walked up the side of my house border wall and down the other side. Then fled over the other side of my gargen before leaping over the 3 block high wall. I'm no expert on this but I don't think Lynx can walk up vertical surfaces. 🤣

felinae, canine and pantherinae keep giving an error about being unable to patch game:itemtypes/food/egg.json because /attributes/foodTags is invalid: the json path /addtributes/foodTags was not found. No such element 'attributes' at the root path
I don't actually know what that part of the patch is meant to do, Maltiez included it when he made the Pantherinae patch, I'm guessing it was meant to add the slashing type damage but I already have it assigned in the ai task. I'll just remove the patch to clean up that error

Could traverse until /server/behaviors/11/aitasks/1, but then 'damageType' does not exist.
I assume that's because I have Combat Overhaul active as well?

I haven't been making compatibility patches, they might be depending on how that mod is set up

That would be because I really should get around to downloading Combat overhaul and testing it 😅 It was on my end, you might want to edit the comment on Combat Overhaul so Maltiez doesn't go troubleshooting it. I should have set it to /server/behaviors/11 instead of 9

i left a comment on combat ovhaul as well but i do get this error on world gen and just general world loading game doesn't crash but it does hichs thanks for lettin gme know
