Latest file for Various v1.16.x:
FarmlandDropsSoil-VS1.15-v1.4.0.zip
1-click install
Allows farmland to drop their respective soil type when broken.
No more losing your precious Terra Preta when you decide to move!
If the nutrients of the farmland are less than their maximum, there is a chance you do not get back anything. For example if the nutrients of a Terra Preta farmland (80 nutrients max) has N=80, P=60, K=40, it will pick the lowest of them all and devide it by the maximum. 40 devided by 80 is 0.5, so the chance to get the soil back in this case would be 50%.
Always wait for the nutrients to fully recover before you pick up your precious farmland!

This works in 1.20 for me.
Not sure if it's intentional and is it a "fair game" or not - you can make high-fertility soil turn into terra pretta by applying potash to it. But as far as nutrients go, it seems like it's still a high-fertility soil but with K nutrients in terra pretta levels. But, since it's technically a terra pretta farmland block, the mod drops it (with a chance of 81% counting right after applying 1 potash to the high fertility farmland with 100% nutrients restored). So, you can basically trade 10 high fertility soil + 10 potash for 8 terra pretta with this mod. It kinda introduces a second craft for terra pretta, and it's cheaper than the vanilla one if you ask me, although you do need a reliable source of potash and searching for salt in this game is a nightmare. I like it since vanilla terra pretta crafting is very tedious when you need a lot of it. I personally think that the amount of work you need to put into finding salt is worth it, but you should be aware of that interaction.
If this works without issue on newer versions you should update the mod version, I was about to leave before I decided to check the comments
Works so far on 1.20.0-pre.7
working on 1.19.8
LilBitnTx
Works completely fine in 1.19.8
Any updates for 2024?
@ElegantChimp Thank you.
Just wanted to mention that I tested the current version (1.4.0) of this mod on the new release of 1.19.0, and everything seems to be working perfectly.
just tested in 1.19rc.1, seems to work still.
@MrTango Why exactly would you use your good soil for the irrigation blocks? Use low-fertility soil for that, then you don't care if you ever get them back or not.
Any chance of compat with Primitive Survival's Furrowed Land (irrigiation)??
DanaCraluminum Thank you!
I so need this mod for my youtube world, Ill eventually need to move all my Terra Preta.
Wizard76 Yes it works on 1.18.6
Can anyone verify that this works with 1.18.5?
could you put on the hud whats the chance of the farmland to drop?
Yanazake copygirl I'm here to confirm this mod works for 1.18.0 rc.2 ! 04/05/23
With all the new soil variants, I wonder if this is still going to work in 1.18
Working in 1.17.9. Thanks!
I'm so happy this still works..
BlueFuryDragon do you think that is good to spam the forum with update to 1.17.2. have you installed any of the mod to see if they work in 1.17.2? if the answer is no then stop spamming here, you need to be more apreciative about the work being done here and less act like a jerk
Is this going to be updated for 1.17.2?
Works in 1.17.2
How well does this work in 1.17, anyone know?
Thanks Copy, it works super well now :) I suspect the potash will be lost if you dig a terra petra at his maximum that someone nurished with the extra 15%K of the potash(change in 1.15)?
Hey Aledark. I just uploaded the 1.15 version that was already available on GitHub. You will need to update. There is a change in the game that causes the mod to break. That is, the game now supports different maximum fertility levels for each nutrient type.
Hi Copy, will v1.3.0 work with 1.15.1? Ty
