If playing version 0.4.2 or later, installing Big Stack Fix is highly recommended but not required. It can be safely skipped at the cost of causing GUI visual bugs with the looking glass.

Would it be possible to have the looking glass be bound to a certain rock type?
I ran into a problem, I went ahead and loaded your mod and set it up (the crystals are pretty rare so not a big deal in the landscape) but after setting up my system I hit a snag.
I went to add a new item to the sort filter of a planet already on a box. And it did nothing, so I decided to clear the planet and re set it using snapshot after adding the new item to the chest. But it would not clear, in fact after messing around a bit I found that I can't do anything at all while looking at that planet, not even swing a tool to break it.
So I tried another planet with no problems. Then I decided to break all the planets I had set up and try again but found two other planets I can't break or manipulate in any way. The one thing all three have in common is a VERY long list of items in the sort filter. I use extra chest mod and some of my chests are steel chests, so very large. And can hold a lot of different items, the sort filter list for the first one I found to have a problem is 39 items long. The others are similar. I'm not sure what to do now. I tried restarting the game. It didn't help. Short of unloading the mod, you got any ideas how I remove those planets. Or why it's doing this, if I'm right, and it's too many items I can split the box, but I need to know what the limit is, any ideas.
Edit: ok, I just read the comments, so I see how to fix it now. Sorry I disturbed you, I should have read first.
I just checked back through. I'm looking forward to trying this mod as soon as the crystal spawning is moved to higher elevations.
Still just too scared to try it until then. I'm almost OCD about the aesthetics of my world.
You should add a config for range, wether different planet types can boost other types and a way to toggle the power system on/off when that gets finished.
Maybe some kind of round robin transfer planet as well.
This mod has a lot of potential and i cant wait to see how it develops.
Memespren Actually mountain tops would be even better than underground, there are already good reasons to go underground but almost no reasons to go to tall mountain tops that would make for more exploration. And in fact, the cool blue color wouldn't look out of place in an ice snowy mountain top the way it would in a forest or field.
Mendall I am not goint to remove the crystals, but I'll take your feedback and look at re-working their aesthetics. Either way by 1.0 I only plan on having them spawn at higher elevations so ultimately it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
I love the functionality of this mod, This has to be one of the best sorting methods I have seen even including all the ones I have tried in my years in (the other block game we shall not mention)but I really, really do not want those crystals spawning in my world. Any chance, they could be made to only spawn underground.
Or better yet make them craft-able with a resource that's already in game but underutilized, like one of the metals that are not used. Also, it could use temporal gears to fit with the already established lor of the game you could even make the technology a thing that must be learned from lor found in ruins, perhaps even add a ruin a person has to find to encourage exploration. There are a lot of possibilities, but the big blue crystals look too much like plastic to be scattered in the woods.
I had to step away from development for a while due to college and I apologize for any unresolved bugs anyone has encountered in the meantime. Now I have returned and will begin to find and address some of the issues that have been brought up since I stepped away.
When there's too many items on the filter of a transfer planet because of Extra Chests mod I was unable to place a block on top of the transfer planet (with ctrl + right click) to hide it.
EDIT I also just found out that having too many items on a transfer planet's list is what caused my issue from 3 days ago. AKA the transfer planet becomes completely unresponsive (can't be removed even in creative) and requires the following steps to fix. 1. Cosmosis mod to be unchecked from your list, 2. start the game as normal, 3. exit game, 4. re-add the mod, 5. reinstall ALL of your transfer planets as they lose all of they're info when the mod wasn't installed...
I have iron upgraded chests from extra chests but when I try to pull something out of them with the mirror my client crashes. :(
I've got a conglomerate transfer planet that has 29 items on it's filter(Extra Chests mod) and now I can't do anything with the transfer planet. I can't break it, even in creative. The Cosmic wrench can't do anything to it. And when aiming at it I can't use the scroll wheel on my mouse to select different items on my hotbar.
Edit: I had to turn off the mod to remove the transfer planet. After I turned it back on I had to remove and replace all the transfer planets I had placed and reassign them to get them to work again.
It appears that if the decay timer of items (i.e. food) are different in the destination container then a transfer planet set to extract won't pull any more of that item out of it's container.
Suggestion: Make the Looking Mirror searchable and sortable by things such as name, numerical id, debug id (game:soil-medium-none, for example) mod prefix, and anything else you can think of. I'm setting up a storage room that works by me placing items into a chest that it then fills chests from Extra Chests with by priority (filling up higher priority ones first) so I can just dump extra stuff in the input chest and pull it from the Looking Mirror. Being able to search through my hoard would make things a lot easier. Edit: Also, I also use Better Crates, and when I get the chance I plan to set things up so that any items I have in excess get sorted into mass storage crates; dirt blocks and such. I've been counting things I have in excess as, all the ones I could have would fill up an entire vanilla chest, but that depends on the stack size. So a way to quickly check the stack size of something would be nice since now the looking glass sorts every item into one big stack.

Watched the video and was amazed! I did not expect for the different planet channels to not count for linking - that was simply genius. Makes things much more user-friendly IMO.
Thanks for the kind words. I have one more update I am working on that adds facades to cover the planets, after that I was going to get going on some sort of storage terminal.
