Charged Jump

This mod solves 2 things that makes me crazy in vintage story:
1. Climbing mountains
2. Sneak jumping not being a thing.
So now just hold jump while sneaking to charge your jump!

You can charge a jump sprinting, just hold space:

You won't jump as high as a sneak charged jump, but you'll go farther!
You can set the max charge and charge rate of the charged jump in the config file.
The animation is tied to charge rate to give you a clue to when the jump is fully charged!

Tweaked the mod code, it now checks for the player sneaking to trigger the charged jump logic instead of checking the shift key. | |||||||

Is there any way you could add a config to disable the standing charge jump separately from the sprint jump, or maybe separate maxCharge and chargeRate configs for the two? (also, Vigor integration like some of your other mods would be phenomenal!!)

Where is the option to disable it in the configs in regards to the sprint jump?
its a really nice idea but it slows down how much you can jump when sprinting so I think I'll probably disable it.
My config for the mod both client and server side is only 3 lines long so just want to make sure I'm not missing anything - I've also been playing on the server today and no goose:
If I could some how put the sprint charge on another key which gets pressed in tandem with space that would be nice but im not sure how that would feel either.
I love Charged Jump, but it interferes with my elk's ability to jump.. When you try to jump with the elk while running it does nothing and when you release sprint it jumps but not very far since it is "walking" technically. Is there a way to fix that? Deactivated the mod and now the elk can jump while galoping. It's sad I was getting used to being an agile little seraph but if it's at the detriment of my poor elk I just can't :(

having an issue with the sprintjump aswell anyway to have it as a seperate mod? love the charged jump but the sprint jump is just odd feeling
Something about this mod is making me lag out? The game freezes and when it snaps back, i cycle through the modded animations, this happens quite often too, but this is only an issue when charged jump is installed... Weird.
dont know if it is intentional but you can double jump, if I hold shift and space to charge my jump and then I release shift first it will do a jump while in the air I then release space and I jump again in the air.
Woah, that sprint jump feels kinda clunky. I updated the mod from the initial versions and was actually trying to hunt down what mod incompatibility I had, but it was just a feature. It kind of locks out jumping while sprinting at all, because it makes it so "sticky." Is there any solution to this short of just disabling it?
There's a funny albeit possibly unintended movement technique involving the running jump and coming to a stop suddenly.
Run, charge up a long jump, stop running and jump automatically in place, then release jump in mid-air for a sort of hybrid long/tall jump.
I think it's pretty funny. It feels great to have so much more mobility.
Hey Salty. I don't use SPACE for jump. And whenever I attempt to remap it, it stays as SPACE.

hey salty, i know it's not how this mod works but would it be possible in the tiniest fracture of a way to make this mod class dependent? For example if I want to add an explorer and only he can do this? I don't konw anything about code so I'm asking this solely because I want to do this so I need to know. thank you very much.
You can do some insane stuff with the new charged jump. The amount of forward acceleration you gain even with just a tap-jump can really get you far, especially if you combine it with vaulting, dashing and diving.
Is there a way to disable the sprint-jump functionality or at least require it to hold jump instead of triggering on a tap as well?

yes, tapping space while running still triggers the animation!
I am charge jumping without holding space, just a single tap, I am also using the latest version of your Sprint momentum mod.

I'm fighting this battle too, but earlier today I did a charged sprint jump to catching ledge over a cliff that was absolute cinema! It pays off!
charged jump sprinting is so useful but man is it gonna take some getting used to lol
Not seeing a config anywhere, is it supposed to be in the ModConfigs folder like normal?
Another thing: would it be possible to have the settings be applied server-side, to apply to all players? I limited the max jump height to 2 block (I think 3 blocks is a bit OP if used together with your Catch Ledge mod), but it doesn't seem to apply to people joining my server.
Great mod! A suggestion: the maximum jump height could scale with movement speed speed reduction caused by wearing armour. E.g. you shouldn't be able to jump up three blocks whilst wearing full plate armor.

I second this. If there was also a charged horizontal jump say when holding ctrl space w, I would use this mod. Imagine the leaps across a ravine with this feature in combination with your new catch a ledge mod!
i think it would be more useful if the charged jump would be more horizontal than vertical.
Sadly Charged Jump doesnt comsume stamina when used... Could we count on patch or should we forget it?

Is it possible to add a hold time config for the jump? Or the sound of a jump being ready? It's not always clear when you can already jump. :)
This might not be reasonable doable, but it would be neat if this could be a class attribute, or have the height configurable by class attribute, so that a mod that adds different races as classes could use it. Like normal Seraphim could crouch jump up 2 but a cat like race could jump 3.
Aside from that, does the crouch jump affect hunger more than a regular jump. I believe jumping uses more than just walking

cool idea, but you can double jump right now by swapping ctrl and shift. maybe tie the held key to the crouch bind so that people can't do that lol

Any chance to be able to configure the key or have it match the sneak button? I have Shift and Ctrl swapped so its harder to use and sprinting occationally gives me Double Jump lol

You should tap into that variable that makes the player glow after death to have the player flash when they're fully charged.
EDIT: Actually it might be a better idea to see if there's a variable that changes entity color, less chance at cave cheese.
