+1 for Cuddly_Khan's suggestion, though I imagine it would be harder to implement even if there was an iron trap door already. I imagine it would have to be on the block on top of the firepit, which could facilitate some neat builds...

Also Buggi and jamescook: I've used this mod with no problems in my game and the case is of it being flush against the inside of the charcoal pit - meaning you have to place the door from inside the charcoal pit. Can't take a screenshot right now but I hope this description helps.

Yeah, adding an image showing it's use would help a lot.

If there were an iron trap door that you could put on top as well, that would make this so perfect!

i know this is gonna be a dum question but when you say facing inside, do you mean the door is flush on the outside of the charcoal pit or it's flush on the inside? edit-will post a pic to better desribe what i ment if need to.

This combined with the Beehive Kiln mod makes for an excellent mid>late game upgrade, dedicated charcoal ovens ahoy!
