If you've ever started collecting butterflies and found the standard display case to be lacking, this is the mod for you!
This mod also includes a patch that very slightly tweaks the lateral offset for butterflies in display cases to center them; This is also noticeable in vanilla (and some butterflies noticeably clip when placed within), so it improves the vanilla case in that regard.

(And an extra all-black set craftable by adding black dye to the recipe if you'd prefer a more "modern" style case):
Specimens placed in dome cases will also orient themselves to your position, like in vanilla display cases:
As an added bonus, and this is displayed in some of the above screenshots, you can place pretty much anything that'd fit in a normal display case in a dome case. Your mileage may vary and there are no checks in place to stop clipping from happening, but I find this is especially nice for displaying collected bountiful crystallized ore chunks.
You can also put whatever in the other displays since I didn't care to limit it (even though I could), but it wasn't a focus and it'll probably look bad. YMMV!

It appears the background of the wall display gets clipped based on where I'm looking. There is no z-fighting with the wallpaper, it just smoothly clips based on the center of the view.
This happens at a distance of over 3 blocks, when placed on wall paper, and with an FOV higher than ~68 (otherwise it's unnoticeable since the FOV clips it).
It seems to happen with other blocks in the game (upper bar of toolracks), so I wonder whether it's a mod issue or not (and whether it's fixable by the mod or not).
Love the way the cases look! one thing that does bug me is that you can't put pins in the case (even in vanilla).
Hello OakLucy! It works just fine for 1.20 (I've been using it myself) but it is probably smart of me to just remove/update the game version dependency to prevent any error or confusion. I'll go ahead and change that now.

Only butterflies that are dead and are items actually fit in display cases. Living butterflies don't; make sure you've got the right kind!
BluntTongs the butterflys dont fit in the cases it writes "doesnt fit to the display case" plz help
it writes me "doesnt fit to the display case" when i want to put the butterfly in, i dont know why.. :(

SunshineFaith It should! The only thing this mod changes that isn't just adding content is sliiiiightly tweaking a butterfly display attribute to make them centered, which... I'm not sure how Display Case Wall centers their objects so they might have manually tweaked butterflies to look more centered, which might throw them off a bit, but it shouldn't be too bad even if that is the case.
