New Item – Bellows are used to heat up the materials faster, they can be used both on the Firepit or the Forge.
New Item – Blacksmith gloves let you pick-up hot items without dropping them all the god damn time. No need for tongs, throw them away!
New Mechanic – Quenching hot materials within a Bucket or a Barrel to cool them down fast so you don't burn your hands.
Tweak – You cannot craft with hot items anymore! Quench them first.

Fixed - Seems to bypass the heat thresholds for fuels within the firepit. I placed firewood inside(the temperature should stop at 700) and can bellow the temperature to 1100 and process metal instead of needing a higher tier fuel source to complete such task. | ||||||

I am also experiencing that it does not seem like the bellows increase the heat for firepits in the current version.
On forge it works perfect though.

What is the black liquid that shows up when holding a hot tool head? Shows right click to quench in a bucket, barrel, or 10ml of some sort of fluid.
JimmyMac If I understand what you said correctly, that's kind of a vanilla issue, I think. It never expected VTML in raw item names.
When you search blacksmith in the handbook the gloves show the HTML code in the entry. Not a big deal but might want to fix it for next time you update the mod for a real problem :)

lol, well I hope you figure out what's causing it eventually, I'll add it then, the bellows is very attractive!
Also, we us salty's manual quenching for doing quenching, any way this could be configurable to turn off your version of it?
LizardmanV are the crashes you're referring to happening in the latest version? Can you share the log files in a new issue in the GitHub issue tracker?
Mod is awesome! My friend who likes to do a lot of the smithing is really enjoying it. We have it on with some other mods including SmithingPlus. A couple crashes have happened when right clicking buckets and barrels with/without items in hand. I'll have to save a crash log and put in the comments here. I think the mod also has some bugs with QP Chisel mod as whenever I start to chisel a block, my character gets stuck in an animation of my arm continuesly doing the chisel animation. Other than that, great features and makes the blacksmithing more immersive!
Lol this was the issue I couldn't fix
everybody on my server who has ever touched the bellows now walks around all day with their arms stuck in the first frame of the bellows animation, like they're driving an imaginary car
Yeah I mean, all of this is great except gloves, really gloves are for tongs otherwise your hand might melt into a mush of gloved finger. Thats why most people dont wear glove on the hammer hand because it can be dangerous.

Paulus_Illyrius Yeah I'm also encountering the same issue. Not sure what is causing it but barrels are definitely the issue.

There is an occuring crash while trying to open a barrel, empty or not it provokes a crash for every player on our server who tries to use it, and the crashlog says the critical error occured in this mod
This is wonderful! I got a bit of a funny muse for you: I dabble in blacksmithing and I once had the idea to try and hold a rather hot piece of mild steel with some welding gloves. I admit, I was able to hold it for a moment, but soon I dropped the workpiece to find that my gloves were searing hot! Not on fire, but charring and almost melting! Perhaps I could try some fiberglass gloves? They are used in casting because welding gloves will actually burst aflame in the mouth of a hot furnace.
Mollycoddle no, I had a look but it's a bit obscure how it works. I asked the author, if they say it's easy to add then I will. Maybe they actually check for temperature changes so it actually is compatible already?

Drehverschluss it was broken by the last update, I fixed it. It works also with tongs.
Louse it was broken by the previous update, I uploaded a fix. You right click on a barrel or bucket.
How do you quench with the buckets? are you supposed to aim at it when dropping it?

Ryumachinae the mods do different things, they have no reason to be incompatible as far as I know

Can't wait for an update for 1.20, I've wanted a bellows/blower mod to make smithing a bit quicker and also more realistic for a while now
Tested running this on 1.20rc8 and getting the following error.

The thicker parts of the gloves clip into most body armors, causing very noticeable z-fighting on the forearm
This mod is great and the gloves look amazing but seeing the constant glitching on the arms while i wear my tailored gambeson distracts me so much
In first person, with immersive camera on, if you use the bellows even once it seems to randomly get you stuck in animation where your hands are held super close together. The only way I've found to fix it is to pick the bellows back up, and puff the air out of them atleast once, then it goes back to normal for a little while. But it keeps randomly breaking my animation and my hands keep getting stuck together. You don't even have to have the bellows on you for this to happen. I stored it on the ground and in a chest and ran around for a little while and it just randomly hits me with the hands in "prayer" looking animation.

I've ran into an issue where after using the bellow my hands get stuck as if I'm still holding it
It's work the same way just using different model and texture but the last time I checked that mod out it didn't work anymore.

Hello people I am working on the update just give me a day or so thank you,
I can't wait for this mod to updated. My server ran into a glitch where if you grab hot metal it crashes. Then when you log back in you pick it up again and get glitched. Endless cycle of BS!!!! These gloves would make it so easy to get around.

Just FYI, I tested thsi on 1.19 pre release, and using the Bellows causes a crash.

I would like to see a function to setup a forge by placing down 3 charcoal/coal on any surface and then 1-2 ingots on top so that we can chisel our own ideal forge.
Yeah the increased heat from bellows is kinda semi-reallistic in a way that meshes well with the game, imo
Whiteshadoh Oxygen can bunr at extremely high temperatures, so it would make sense that feeeding a fire more of it would make it bunr hotter than the fuel would allow. While going the full max of 9000 degrees would be a bit overboard i think raising the max temp of a fire by a few hundred degrees would be unrealistic. If you've ever use a rocket stover (or a burn barrel with holes in the bottom) you would understand what I mean.
Noleadge There is a follow buttom. but it would be nice to have a like buttom too.
I know there is a issue with the bellow. I fixed it again....... stupid me letting two value fighting over cooking time.

------What about tier bellows, ones using less resources cost, much less durability, temperature increase is slow/less and take more hunger. Then we reinforced them multiple times ending with an "end" game version that last as aslong as the current one(the durability is very large) and consumes less food. Also if the low tiered bellows had a chance to break on use would promote the advancing in bellow tiers, kind of like the refractory bricks.

Do the bellows work with crucibles? I have been wanting a mod with bellows for so long but I wanna know how they work exactly. Do they just make the time to heat shorter or do they actually increase the heat slightly like they would in real life? Thanks! Great mod!
It's some what the same just I limited it to only smithing things. It shouldn't be a issue with using them both if you want to keep the other one. CodeRedAlert
Is this mod compatible with Quench? The one for using barrels to cool down metal? Would it be recommended just to remove that one and use this since they do the same thing?
