Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.19.8, 1.20.0 - 1.20.3 and 1.20.4, potentially outdated):
animation-resync_1.3.0-release.zip  1-click install

THIS MOD IS NOT FOR EVERYONE AS THE ANIMATIONS ARE A LOT MORE BASIC THAN THE NEW 1.19 ANIMATIONS!

Features:

  1. Slighty retimed walk animation and a few others
  2. Completely remade from scratch the first and third person animations for: Pickaxe, Shovel, and Axe and each respective tool using their animations
  3. Sounds from block destruction now match the tool animations

Known Issues:

  1. The mod currently needs to be installed on the client as well as server due to my janky use of json patch files

If anyone is willing to contribute to the mod to help fix these issues it would be greatly appreciated (i have no form of programming skill)

How about slowing down both the sound and the animation? It looks too fast.

Invataksi338472 Probably but i have no idea how to program so i cannot do that unfortunately 🤷‍♂️

Joinging the sound delay conversation: Is it not possible to change the delay between hits and damage per hit?
That could fix this whole issue, though probably requires too much time and efford when this works too! :P
(oh and there would be a problem with how to deal with block health regeneration. I guess you could just disable it for the currently mined block, or adjust the damage to compensate for it)

SaltyWater trust me i tried that but the sounds play when the block takes damage it doesnt just simply loop the sound

Fine animations! I loved it! Very immersive! ^^
Say, wouldn't a slight delay in the beggining of the sound files solve the slow animations problem? Then you could theoretically slower the animations to match the timestamp the "hit" sfx is triggered. I think this would meet those requests below!
Sorry if I couldn't make my self clear haha! Great job with the mod!

I too would prefer slightly slower sounds and animations. Right now it loos way too fast

This makes sense actually.
I'd rather the sound be slowed down, but that also works

Psychose thanks for bringing that to my attention a bunch of other stuff broke as well because the mod was essentially using the 1.19.8 player model in 1.20.3 which caused a bunch of issues so i will now have seperate releases for both versions

I had noticed while using your mod that for some reason the head model becomes a bit screwy. The head seems to stick further back than normal making certain hairs not look right and makes player heads stick out of armor, not really sure why but it would be great if this could be fixed. Will include a

Nephelangelo Unfortunately i cannot that was my original idea but the problem is sounds play every time a block gets damaged and has nothing to do with the animation so unless i can reprogram all of that from scratch (i cant program at all) unfortunately theres no way of achieving that

💬 Nephelangelo, Jan 28th at 4:35 AM

This is cool and def an improvement, but I think the real sweet spot would be the reverse, slower swings and slower sound effects. I'm gonna follow in hopes that you can make something like that.

@Fullapple1991 that was actually my original idea if you check the files you can find some old sounds but sadly the sounds play when the block takes damage and has nothing to do with the animation

💬 Fullapple1991, Jan 28th at 12:06 AM

Honestly, wished it was the other way around, slow animation, "slower sound".
