Hi SunshineFaith, yes this should work fine for 1.19.3. :-)
The only real problem is the modinfo file, I will "update" sometime this week when I get a chance and it will stop showing an error. I havent played 1.19 yet, so I am not entirely sure if its compatible, but from my knowledge it should be unless they changed something in the folder structure.

I'm going to try using this mod for the current build of 1.19.3.  I love the darker color.   Hopefully it works anyway.  Did the author stop updating? 

Would there be any way to force the server to ask the player to download the mod?
I tried modifying the mod files for this, but to no avail.

"side": "Client", I tried changing it to "Both", and it works "right", but when I finish the Download it asks again, and the cycle repeats itself.

Lord_Fong Good question! The reason I made this mod a retexture instead of a completely new tree was because I like to play on a server so I wanted to make a client side mod. A server-side mod would work if the server I play on added it, however, any already generated parts of the map are not going to have the new tree and so I would have to venture quite far out to see it.

ArtiKs There is definitely a way to make those seeds add a custom tree, like how both you and Fong suggested. Since both of you seem to be interested in a mod that does that I will look into making something like that. :)

The game has unused "Dark pine seeds".
Is there a way to make those seeds add darker trees without replacing the existing pines?

I don't love the orange pine wood, but there are some objects that look better in that color.
I made the same question in the medieval fashion mod and I have to post it here too, because this hue looks so elegant~
 

Why not make a mod that adds spruce trees, instead of doing a retexture of a completely different tree?

It's a content-only mod, it should not have a dependency in the first place. Works just fine even in 1.16 with "dependencies" field entirely removed.

DanaCraluminum It has dependency on game version 1.18.8, when you try to use the mod in older version it's grayed out and the info says dependency missing. I managed to make it work by editing that value to 1.18.7. Works perfectly

Why isn't it possible to run this mod in 1.18.7 version? I can't play Net 7.0 versions due to performance issues, too much freezes

It would be nice if this can be added to the dark pine seed that is in the game, keeping pine the same addding a new tree to the game.  I actually like the look of pine wood and trees, but also like these spruce textures hoping it is possible to have both.

this has to be one of the things i been begging to be added to the main game since the wood colors are really lacking

I rarely found use for maple and pine other than for gates and it only looked good with certain materials.
