A fix of an existing mod, should the original mod author ask I'll remove it. I might open a git if there is demand for it, but I doubt this will break easily enough to warrant bug-tracking. I got bored so now there is a git.
There are two files, compostgrass, and compostgrasshalf. Each taking 20 and 10 days respectively, Choose your versions.
Working on 1.19.* from what I can tell.

I'm willing to cut it in half, but I'll start a poll. Here
There are now two versions, 1.0.1 is half, 1.0.0 is full 20 days.
Any chance of tweaking the grass compost time so using rot is always quicker? I'm going to edit the file myself but thought id comment so the suggestion is out there.😊
