Shepherd's Mod

Description

The Shepherd's Mod is a modification (mod) for the Vintage Story game that adds a new tool called the Shepherd's Crook. This staff-like tool can be used to poke animals in the game, provoking them to become angry at the player without causing actual harm to the animal.

Features

  • Adds the Shepherd's Crook tool to the Vintage Story game.
  • Allows players to interact with animals by poking them with the Shepherd's Crook.
  • Provokes animals to become angry at the player without inflicting damage.

Future Plans

While the mod currently only includes the Shepherd's Crook and the ability to provoke animals, there are plans to further enhance animal behavior modification in the future. Some potential ideas for future updates include:

  • Snaring untamed animals.
  • Shepherding tamed animals to follow the player in neat flocks.

i dont know if you already have a plan of attack for making animal hearding a thing by getting them to follow you, but I know the golden wolf mod sort of controls the distance and time length of where the wolf is at any given time in the json file. Maybe you could use that as a base idea and make it so that the staff when poking or whatever to the animals, it could change those settings to cause the animals to "follow settings" then do it again to put the settings back, maybe make two settings in your config and have those be the two switched between.

Hey it's fine, the whackem mod is currently semi-broken and causes crashes on some server, while your probably doesn't ;)

Thank you for bringing the Whackem mod to my attention. I appreciate your feedback, and I must admit that the Whackem mod 
is indeed more sophisticated compared to my Shepherd's Crook mod. 
It's clear that my mod is currently more like a toy in comparison.

I have plans to explore the implementation of a flocking mechanism, which may make this mod more interesting in the future.
